Need For Speed Hot Pursuit

Sorry, Bill, I don't take kindly to you beating my time. I have now rectified it. Challenge extended.

NFS 1 was a fecking brilliant game, every one since has been a let-down. Hot Pursuit games are fun for a bit, but don't have much depth.

This is hard as feck. The second track on Mission Beach is a Hot Pursuit challenge.......it is carnage, no pun intended. Cop cars chasing you from the off, with two more waiting for you a few miles in. I have only made it to the end once without being wrecked, nevermind actually coming first. Most of the damage you sustain comes from the other racers as opposed to the cops.

It is easier as you get better cars.

I've now gotten gold in all the police "Hot Pursuit" and "Inception" and that's effectively game over for me. I find no joy in the other missions. The normal "Hot Pursuit" is al right, but I find racing and getting through tracks unscathed extremely tedious.

*Cough* Let's just say my limited amount of game time hasn't been a waste of money... (PC)

I got it today finally and I absolutely love it, probably the first NFS game I've enjoyed for five years or something.

I had a quick blast on this in HMV yesterday. Impressive graphics, damage and ran pretty smoothly.

I'm not really into these types of car games anymore though, so I won't be buying.

That's a shame, because arcade racers such as this can be so much fun. Maybe it's something from my teenage years, but I have very fond memories of Chase HQ in the arcades, especially the tilting cabinet version, just a wonderful, wonderful game. I shall be buying this.

I saw an advert on tv for this last night but wasn't properly paying attention, am I right in thinking I saw a Veyron police car?!

I am actually finding this a lot of fun. It reminds me of the old Burnout 2 game on the Gamecube, with added police chase action.

It's also good to try and beat times posted by your friends. As soon as you log into the game it updates you with friend challenges and whose time to beat.
Lance and I have been beating each others times on a couple of runs and it adds a more competetive element to the game.

If you like old school arcadey racers then you should enjoy this.

I am going to be off line for a while, probably from Friday. :(

Moving house. By the time I get broadband installed I will be invincible.

can anyone say what it is like compared to the demo. I didn't like the way the 350Z handled in the demo, like it was driving through water, but the reviews of the game have been very good, so i wonder is it an issue isolated to the demo, the car, or a few cars.

Can anyone who felt the same about the handling in the demo (there were a few on this thread) comment on whether the full game is different?

I have only driven the 350Z in the demo (and I thought it was shitty), but I have no problem with the car handling in the full game.

I can't vouch for the demo, as I didn't play it. Cars do handle differently, I've not driven the 350Z yet but Porsches, Z4's Subarus etc all handle differently. Some better than others!

Will I like this if I liked Carbon? I realize Carbon wasn't a particularly great game, but for some reason I always come back to it to play the story through over the space of however long..

I am loving this, despite currently playing offline. The Hot Pursuit mode and flat out races I am relatively good at, but it is the time trials that I really enjoy. Learning every curve, bump and shortcut in order to shave seconds off my time.....it takes me back.

The time trial driving the Lambo Reventon around the 360 degree turns is fantastic.

I really want to buy this after reading the reviews and your comments lads. I didn't think Burnout Paradise was particulary amazing though and am worried that I won't like NFS Hot Pursuit because of this.

I am fed up of the Forza and GT games, I just want something I can pick up, not take too seriously and have loads of fun with.

Weastie, you're right about Chase HQ - I was addicted to that game back in the day.

Buy it, it is brilliant. Best of all, £24.85 with free postage from Shopto.

ShopTo.Net - Need For Speed Hot Pursuit - Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3)

360 version is a pound extra.

I thinking of getting this game to keep me occupied during the spring break. Is it worth $40?

Anyone have any idea whatsoever if they will ever bring out Need For Speed Underground 3?

It was my favourite driving game of all time (2nd one) and it seems I am not alone, @needforspeed get loads of tweets every single day about a new Underground title, they replied to me saying 'Stay tuned to the twitter feed for information'.

I am desperate for this game to be made!
