Need For Speed Hot Pursuit

Promising.

But you are not "driving" it, it's an arcade game - you aim it in a direction. It's like saying that you used to drive the car in Chase HQ.

The handling, for the 350z in the demo, was simply not fun imo. Was slow to react, like the car was filled with water. Maybe the other cars in the game are better and the 350z is simply a poor example - the review scores would indicate that is a highly likely possibility - but the fact remains I though the 350z was no fun to drive, and in an arcade racer that is key.

As others have said, it handles a lot like the cars in Blur do - which I also did not like. Split/Second was a lot more fun in terms of handling a car control, as well as feeling of speed.

92 on Metacritic from 11 reviews. I will probably have to get this, based on that score.

Don't be fooled by reviews, this game is the ultimate 2 edged sword. Either love it or hate it, there is no inbetween.

Like Marmite, which co-incidentally I tried for the first time the other day. I can see where it gets its reputation.

4 rounds of toast heavily coated in the stuff with boiled eggs sponed on top is perhaps not the best way to break in such a powerful new flavour.

Mine too. Seems like we're in the minority. Received above average reviews at that time but it was really one of my favorite FPS ever as well.

I only read one review, it got 10/10. Which baffled me, I thought it was a solid 8.

Same with this game, played the demo, thought it was smooth but quite shallow. The reviews are fantastic though, obviously the demo doesn't do it justice.

They have finally come up with a definite release date for that?

Not that I care, of course...

What's wrong with these reviews?

By the way, I am disappointed with NFS: HP. I'll dwell on it more when I am back from work.

What's obscene about it?

I find it more obscene how games like Fifa09 get 94 and Red Dead Redemption gets 95.

That's part of the problem, yes. It seems like almost every big game gets these insane scores. 9/10 should be reserved for the absolute best games out there. 7/10 should be a pretty good game, but these days it pretty much means a big flop. The worst game imaginable would probably get 5/10. Like, Big Rigs.

I ordered this. Dispatched within 5 minutes by Shopto. Hard to beat.

Firing it up now. This is yet another new release with a code to activate your online pass. Not one to pick up used, then.

I picked this up today as my impulse buy of the week.
Will try and play it at some point this weekend.

Sweet. Someone else on my friends list who has the game. I think it's a blast, so far. On some of the races, it is simply trying to come first. On others, it is to come first, and outrun the cops. And on others, it's just about beating the clock. I can see myself putting a lot of time into this.

BMW M3 is my car of choice, so far. There are certain challenges you can take on early, in cars like the Zonda, Carrera GT, and McClaren F1. Ass clenchingly fun.

Cool, is it anything like the early Burnout games?

That first time trial for the police was infuriating. beat 1:51 to get gold, but hit the wall and we add 2 seconds, hit cars we add 3. I must have taken about 20 attempts to get gold, I kept hitting the wall on the chicane near the end and finishing with 1:52+ times.

I haven't played them. However, according to the learned reviews, it has taken the best parts of Burnout Paradise, and added them to the NFS formula.

What I can tell you, is that the graphics are quality, the chases are exhilarating, and the crashes look awesome.

Oh, and the autolog system makes online play very interesting indeed. Say, for example, you beat my time on a certain race. I will be alerted to that, and feel compelled to wrest my crown back. And obviously, you can play the pursuit mode, too.

Fixed :p
