NBA Thread 2013-2014

 Jennings and Josh Smith, 'Sheed's gonna have some fun as an Assistant.

I think you'll get 7/8th seed but yeah, I'd have waited and seen how the Rondo situation played out up at Boston.

They should take off the leash and let Jennings do his flashy dribbling ala Jason "White Chocolate" Williams routine. Sure it won't win most games, but it will freaking entertain some people in the meantime! Detroit ain't winnin' a trophy for at least another 5 years, probably more like 10 anyway.

You know, it's not really a major crime or anything, but I'm pretty disgusted by this allegation that Terrence Jones stomped on the leg of a sleeping homeless man, just to be a cnut.

I like his game but now I hope he falls on his face. Just pathetic, at least go punch someone who's conscious.

The, er, Pelicans have decided to make the most boring uniforms in the world.

bilde

Interesting graph. Considering true shooting percentage Kobe is not so bad. Rudy, Monta Ellis seem to be the worst. Westbrook and Melo should shoot more wisely. Lebron and Durant are off the charts.

Who are the favourites now Miami?? Pacers have made some good moves, i'm hearing Aldridge to Chicago for Boozer, Deng (or Butler) and a pick

Completely forgot they changed their name to the Pelicans

Was just about to say I hope Charlotte can have Hornets back and I see that they will, great news

It seems free agency is just about done, so I thought I'd ask everyone to post their top 8 from each conference.

East
1. Miami
2. Chicago

6. Atlanta
7. Boston
8. Washington

The East might get 3 playoff teams with losing records, Atlanta will be weaker but I can't see anyone else beating them to the 6 seed. Who will make it into 7th and 8th, who knows.

I'm definitely excited to see what the Warriors do this season, I'd bet on them to win more games than Houston.

I don't think Brooklyn will not be better than CHI, MIA and IND. They can fight for 4th with NYK. It will be an interesting season.

Miami FAVOURITES AGAIN??

It all depends on Wade's knees for me. Lebron can't do it alone.

East
1. Miami
2. Chicago
3. Indiana
4. New York
5. Brooklyn
6. Cleveland
7. Atlanta
8. Detroit

West
1. Oklahoma City
2. San Antonio
3. Memphis

5. Rockets

8. Minnesota

The West is too tight. I think the top 3 teams are a lock, after that it's a crap shoot.

Dallas is no way going to the playoff this season. Their squad is poor.

If Dirk gets back to his best, then anything is possible. Neither Portland nor Minnesota are that convincing, and I don't expect the Lakers to make the playoffs this season. Utah is significantly weakened, I think it's wide open for that 7/8 spot.

Well, Dirk is a future Hall of Famer, unlike anyone on Minnesota or Portland. He was like a 7 foot tall Larry Bird before his last injury. All he had was Chandler and Terry when they won the title anyway.

I think Portland has a strong team, I was surprised they won so few games last season. Minnesota needs Love and Rubio to actually play most of a season. I can certainly see either of them making the playoffs, but I definitely think Dallas has a shot.

The statement was 'No way Dallas is getting in the playoffs', I'm just saying they have a shot.

From what I've read, it took Dirk a season and a half to get over the surgery, but is looking good. But if he's not at All-Star level then the Mavs will struggle, absolutely.

East
1. Miami
2. Brooklyn
3. Chicago
4. Indiana
5. New York
6. Cleveland
7. Detroit
8. Atlanta

West

1. San Antonio
2. Oklahoma City
3. Golden State
4. Houston
5. Los Angeles
6. Memphis
7. Portland
8. Minnesota

I would have Memphis over the Lakers and maybe Detriot over Cleveland.

The new season is about to start.. The only thing that was worth seeing in the pre-season was this...

Kobe's return is the only thing I'm looking forward to for the Lakers this season. Next year's free-agency will be more important for the Lakers' future than anything they do this year.

Also, I'm hoping D'Antoni is finally sacked.

NBA starts today. My predictions are:

East
1. Chicago
2. Miami
3. Indiana
4. Brooklyn
5. New York
6. Cleveland
7. Washington
8. Atlanta

West
1. San Antonio
2. Memphis
3. Houston
4. LA Clippers
5. Oklahoma City
6. Golden State
7. Minnesota
8. Dallas

Chicago beats Miami in the Eastern Conference finals, Memphis wins a slugfest against the Clippers. Chicago wins the finals.

Sue me.

I don't see it with the Pistons eboue, I never rated Josh Smith, and I don't think he's the type of player to take the Pistons to the next level.

As for the Thunder, they will be without Westbrook until December at the least. If he was fit I'd have them just behind San antonio.
