And so you say that someone who has been the NBA's best defensive player for two years running now is not worth being in the top 10? But, why? Someone like TMac goes into the top 10 really only on the strength of his offense. He would not have anywhere the same kind of defense as Ben Wallace. I think Wallace excels at what he does and deserves to be in the top 10 quite easily...</strong><hr></blockquote>
Did you think Dikembe Mutombo was one of the top 10 players in the league when he was winning Defensive POY?
T-Mac does play decent D but it gets overshadowed
by his offensive output and general excellent all round game. How often does Jordan's defence get talked about? Hardly ever. They talk about the rings, the MVPs, the game winning shots, the 50 points games etc despite him making the All NBA defensive team on numerous occasions. How often do people rave about Kobe's D?

i would agree with that
hes a FA and it looks like hes going to the spurs

I would agree with this. Jermaine O'Neal needs to be higher than Ben Wallace. But, surely Wallace deserves to be quite high up in the evaluations. What is more, you have to appreciate that whatever his style of play, it does suit the Pistons quite well.
Anyway, yes, I would have rated Dikembe Mutombo in the top 10 in the league when he was being nominated Defensive POY. But, again, that's my evaluation, with which you are completely free to disagree...

I completely disagree. IMO Mutombo wasn't even a top 5 in his own position let alone top 10 in the whole league when he was winning Defensive POY. Would you consider him better than Shaq, Olajuwon, Robinson, Ewing or Mourning? I haven't even started on the guards or forwards who were better than him. No way was Mutombo a top 10 player. EVER.

Lakers are a great team, but they have lost the hunger that drove them on.
They need a more balanced team with more threats.

In the east (match up winners in bold)
Detroit Pistons v/s Orlando Magic
Who to pick here? Tracy McGrady is a one man army. He is quite simply one of the top three best players in the league and not half as cocky or lucky as Kobe Bryant. But, Detroit boasts of a certain Ben Wallace, a really formidable defensive talent. And Rick Hamilton does provide that flair going forward. McGrady will keep his team in this one! But, I guess the Pistons will make home court count in this one!
Pistons: 4-3
New Jersey Nets v/s Milwaukee Bucks
I will pick an upset here. Gary Payton will put one over the other great point guard of the league, Jason Kidd. I think the Nets have found it tough going this year. They have not dominated the East half as much as they had dominated last season. I think the Bucks are moving into gear and might just be able to take this one in a seventh decider.
Bucks: 4-3
Philadelphia 76ers v/s New Orleans Hornets
As much as I like Iversen, I think Mashburn will be trying quite hard to put back the disappointment of last season's play off when food poisoning prevented him from playing a single game. They do have such a talented team with Mashburn and Davis forming arguably the best back court in the East.
Hornets: 4-2
Indiana Pacers v/s Boston Celtics
I don't like the Celtics and their style. Antoine Walker is too cocky a personality and not even half good to justify that. I would have to go with Jermaine O'Neal here.
Pacers: 4-2.
Semi Finals
New Orleans Hornets v/s Detroit Pistons
Jamaal Mashburn will carry his team through this one.
Hornets: 4-2
Indiana Pacers v/s Milwaukee Bucks
Would love to see Payton have a final go at the some high prize. He should carry his team here, although Jermaine O'Neal and the Pacers will prove rather formidable.
Bucks: 4-3
Eastern Conference Finals
New Orleans Hornets v/s Milwaukee Bucks
Feel sorry for Payton, but I am backing the Hornets all the way in the East.
Hornets: 4-2
NBA Finals

Sounds like I got things completely wrong in the East... <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" /> But who cares? The East isn't a factor anyways

Cos you are 2 down, odds are that even at best the 76's can't win 4 straight, and no team likes to be dragged to 7 games.
I think the Pistons could actually take this in 6, if you had split the first 2 I would have given you a big chance, but at 2 down it'll be more than tough.</strong><hr></blockquote>
and like i said i can see us going 2-2 back to detriot
anything can happen
iverson is gonna come up big

You better hope so cos without him you don't have a chance.

Feck off.
Lakers had a lot of bad calls last night, how in fecks name Duncan can barge a player with his shoulder to make room and Shaq can't I don't know.
And how can George be call for a non shooting foul when he gets pushed into Duncan by Parker?

And the Lakers had so many great calls over the past couple of years as well.
Thats no excuse for an actor-fan to come in and complain about it. Who does he think he is?!
The fact he wasn't kicked out just shows what a joke this is. Can you see such a thing happening in English football?
Bottom line is, the game was interrupted by an outside intruder who may well have affected the referees and was allowed to go back to his VIP seat. If the Lakers end up winning this series I won't watch another NBA match this year. The sporting edge is gone.
