NBA 2023-2024

For what my 2 cents is worth, Denver just look so solid even when Jokic isn’t at his best. They look like they haven’t even started getting out of first gear and their roster looks so strong, they’re also very good in the periods of a game when they bring on the 2nd string. You can’t see anyone matching them when it will come to the playoffs & best of series.

Their problem right now while Murray is out is them trying to make MPJ 2nd scorer and he aint consistent in hitting his shots, specially from 3 right now

I'm sure you've already discussed it, but what the feck is going on with Jimmy Butler's hairdo in his official pic?

Draymond and Klay didn't think it was fair that Steph got the night off and they didn't.

First I have to say that McDaniels overreacted to Klay's shoving and grabbing but what was Klay doing? Why did he first stiff armed McDaniels and then grabbed him like that?

I think Klay is having a hard time with how he's playing so any little thing is liable to make him overreact or just get involved in something - period. After that, one thing led to another etc... etc...

Having said all that. I'm really getting tired of Draymond Green. His behavior is just getting old.

I’m surprised Klay didn’t count his 4 fingers to McDaniels to be fair. Incredible restraint.

It’s his 3rd ejection this season, it’s only been 12 games. He seems more interested in scrapping with people than playing basketball.

Initially, McDaniels is just trying to get Klay's hand off of his jersey when he's grabbing it around his collarbone area. Is he just supposed to let Klay punk him and grab a fistful of his jersey all the way down the court? Nobody wanted to back down, so it escalated. It would have been fine and probably just double technicals if Draymond didn't Draymond.

Steve "the Enabler" Kerr looks foolish trying to defend this.

Yes, he should let Klay do his nonsense or flop like Embiid would. McDaniels is a key player for the Wolves and if McDaniels doesn't learn how to control his reactions, teams could be tempted to use end of bench players as goons and try to get under his skin. As a Wolves fan, I have no issue claiming that Klay was the instigator but the reaction from Jaden doesn't serve him or the team.

If he flops in that transition scenario and it is not called, his team is at a defensive disadvantage for that possession. Floppers like Embiid and Harden have some of the least appealing games in the league. We should encourage less of that, not more.

Sometimes you need to set the tone and let bullies know that you will not be pushed around. It's a much a mental game as a physical one. It's not like McDaniels threw a punch or anything. That type of scuffle is fairly common in a game and, in a normal situation without Draymond's intervention, it's just a double technical foul.

Also have them as favorites/best team in the NBA (and would prefer if they can win another title), but I think the Celtics are close 2nd. Holiday and Porzingis are great additions to the starting lineup.

And yes, Draymond is an idiot. This shit is getting so tiresome.

Kerr has been enabling Draymond’s awful behaviour for too long and he’s still defending the indefensible. They should throw the book at Draymond and throw a 1 game ban at Kerr for even trying to defend that shit.

On the preseason media day, he went as Emo Butler and the official pics for all players are from that day. IIRC he did something similar previously.

Steve Kerr has defended Draymond to the media in public but I'm not sure that's what goes on in house. It's been mentioned on numerous occasions that the two have gone at it in private in huge shouting matches, so I don't think Kerr is that happy with his antics either.

As to Gobert. IMLTHO, he should probably have been ejected too but that's still no excuse for Green to do what he did.

Fair enough if that’s the case but Green has been out of control for way too long now. I get the whole defend them in public but lambast them in private thing but he just looks silly when keeps offering up excuses or whataboutisms for Green’s behaviour.

He got 5 games in the end, which is simultaneously more than what I expected and not quite enough.

Some might argue he’s seen the red hot Rockets coming up on the schedule and purposely got himself suspended ;)

Ominous that Draymond hasn't said anything - guessing he's saving receipts for the typical statement 4/3/5 line when he gets back

Klay could be playing himself out of a contract extension.

It appears the NBA agreed that Gobert should have also been punished since they have fined him 25K along with Thompson and McDaniels.

I doubt Gobert gets any fine at all without Green doing what he did.

Jokic posts a comical 26/16/18 stat line. Still manages to lose. Only scored 3 points in the 4th and was 1/8 from 3pt range.

Full bench stint killed them in the 1st half, right now he is on 5 plus on avg for 3s, either he is just forcing those for a reason or its a sign of tiredness.

NBA officials are just like PL officials. Utterly useless.

We had a 6 point lead. Refs ignore two fouls in consecutive possessions, both end with the Clippers hitting 3s, including the Harden dagger 4 point play that effectively killed the game.

I mean come on

How the heck did we lose that. I don't understand why they didn't foul on the inbounds when the Thunder were down 3.

Yea whats up with that and this is not only a GSW thing from tonight, noticed that few times last season too from other teams. Also what the hell going on with home vs away form for you guys, last season away was shit, this season they flipped it.

He's very good. You think he can beat Wemby to Rookie of the Year?

I’d say he’s leading the race for now. He does a huge advantage in that he’s been training with NBA coaches for parts of last season and he has a top 10 player in the league feeding him plus his injury last season means he’s now playing with a year 3 Giddey and year 2 JDub instead of year 2 Giddey and rookie JDub.

Wemby is playing in a team that has Sochan at PG.

Fair enough. We will see how things pan out. I sort of feel that Wemby has a leg up due to the media hype before he entered the league, so Chet will have to appreciably outperform him in order to win the award.

what's going on in the Nuggets game? Malone tossed in the 1st, Jokic tossed in the 2nd.

Think Malone saw it miles away that Jokic had enough for some time now and did a fake outrage to take a hit for him but that trick didnt do shit. Its overflow with Jokic right now, getting mauled, getting nothing for it, Funny how same criteria aint applied for all.

The thing about Jokic is that he's an honest player. No fake outrage or flopping, so he gets nothing. Curry's been grabbed off the ball and mauled at the basket for years but goes to the free throw line much less than would be expected compared to a Harden or an Embiid who cry and flop all the time and so live at the line.

That is one reason why I like Jokic because of that part of his game.
