Jokic with a 14-12-28 average for the series. Now holds the record for the most post season triple doubles (8) with the finals still to play. Previous record was Wilt's, set all the way back in 1967.
Well done Denver! A wonderful team and the best in the west by far this year. Epic defence from Maple Curry on the last play.
Darvin Ham complaining about the refs is really something. And it is amazing how much of the focus is on LA from some of these announcers after Nuggets just made history.
I love schadenfreude. Especially when it involves LeBron AND the Lakers.Oh what a beautiful start to the day The phony self proclaimed GOAT getting swept puts me into a festive mood

According to ESPN Analytics, the Lakers have a 100% chance of going to LeCancun.

There's something wrong with their algorithm. They still have Boston favored in the other series, and Boston trail 3-0. They heavily favored Boston over the Warriors in last year's final, and got that wrong as well.
You are not winning anything with Anthony " does well every other day" Davis. Lebron is not the player he was, he is still a good player but he is not lebron and can't really get it done in the clutch, if you keep reaves your cap is going to fecked leaving you with little for more support cast. I think this is the end of the steph and lebron era.Why wouldn't the announcers focus on the Lakers when the rest of the bum teams care more about us than anyone else too. Go look at the posts in this thread and see how many are about the Lakers compared to other teams. We're the man united , the real Madrid of the NBA ; you bums are Southampton and Malaga. No one cares about you.
Congrats to Denver, they were the better team and Jokic is just insane. Best (non laker) big since Hakeem.
The Lakers need to learn their lessons from the last title and not blow everything up. This is a decent core if lebron has one or two more years in him. Tinker around the edges and add a few pieces. Another big, a 3 and d wing and a shooter. Shop Dlo but keep Rui and Reaves.
Also respect to Lebron. What a first half at this age. His drive and finish to the basket is like Kareems hook, MJs jumper or Stephs three. One of the greatest weapons in basketball history. Of course he's old and AD is not a 1a guy so big changes are coming but as long he is on the court the other team gets shook.
Overall a positive season for the Lakers considering the starting point. Next year with no injury curses we should be a top 4 seed in the west.

LeBron really is a special player and has and continues to have an all time great career.Jokic in the finals that shot over James as time expired in the 4th, ridiculous
Credit to James though, played 48 minutes at the age of 38 and came up with 40 points. Couldn't will his team to a win.
That shot left me gobsmacked tbh, the refs wanted to give it as a 2.Jokic in the finals that shot over James as time expired in the 4th, ridiculous

Needs better supporting cast than AD /s

He has over 8,000 playoff points now? Can’t imagine that one being brokenLeBron really is a special player and has and continues to have an all time great career.
It's just a shame he's such an arse.
Lakers vs Celtics would have had crying out tears of joysTotally agree. It's extremely weird and feel like ESPN is forcing the narrative due to national talking points and influence on betting.
Jokic decided he was closing it right heree: Wow, 6 minutes later and the 15 points lead is gone
Well now. Let's not go overboard. I mean, did you forget Tim Duncan or what?!?!?Congrats to Denver, they were the better team and Jokic is just insane. Best (non laker) big since Hakeem.
Yep, if we can get some decent pieces for Dlo that would go a long way. Then it's about developing Rui and Reaves and hope either can get to fringe all star caliber - they both showed that potential in these playoffs imo, and close Vanderbilt in the gym until he's developed a reliable 3P shot so he's actually playable in the playoffs. Beyond that, hope LeBron still has a year in him and AD stays healthy. More than anything i feel like we lost this series because we just run out of gas, all games came down to the wire and they just had more energy. We've been playing in playoff mode for months just to get into the playoffs in the first place, so a good RS next year is paramount. I think we're one of the best teams in the league as it is, we proved it, now it's time to make it stickThe Lakers need to learn their lessons from the last title and not blow everything up. yep that was our worst move of the Pelinka era, seriously. KCP was our third best player in the bubble too. Letting him and Caruso(4th best) go like that was criminalLakers gave up KCP for Westbrook. Colossal mistake.
We literally won a title with AD, he's still the single most dominant defensive player in the league come playoffs time, and we do still have LeBron who hopefully can remain superhuman for another season or twoYou are not winning anything with Anthony " does well every other day" Davis. You won the bubble title with ad, make ad travel and add fans to the equation Davis can't get it done. That's how he has always been, he is a very good player but when pressure is high he ain't your guy. Lebron doesn't need a 2nd star to help him out, he needs a superstar that lebron can help out and you don't have that.Well now. Let's not go overboard. I mean, did you forget Tim Duncan or what?!?!?

And whether you like or dislike LeBron personally, his greatness is undeniable.

Our cap is already fecked, that's why we're gonna keep Reaves, who is great anyways
Anyways, congrats to the Nuggets, best team in the West and deservedly in the finals. Jokic and Murray duo is absurd, they really should win the title. Also goes to show how much they missed Murray the last 2 postseasons
Missed the non Lakers part tbhShaq won 3 rings with us
Only Muhammad Ali can get away with being a self-proclaimed GOAT. No one else should try it, especially people in team sports. Are you listening CR7?!Oh what a beautiful start to the day The phony self proclaimed GOAT getting swept puts me into a festive mood
AD gets it done on defence just fine, we need Reaves to make the step up to genuind third star of the team for the offence and we're good. I say Reaves because his playmaking gives him a higher ceiling on offence than someone like RuiYou won the bubble title with ad, make ad travel and add fans to the equation Davis can't get it done. He has indeed taken a lot of flak. Congrats to him and the Denver Nuggets, in the NBA Finals for the first time in their 56 year history. The Lakers get swept and you do wonder if that's Lebron’s championship window closing. He'll be a year older next year and there's no guarantee Anthony Davis stays healthy next season.
The point spread wasn't enormous but it still was a sweep, Denver is only going to get better.
Well deserved from Jokic who has gotten some pretty laughable criticism about his lack of playoffs success. He has a chance to become a multiple time MVP and a win a title if he can take care of business in the next round. Hoping for Miami.
I don't want to speak for @Desert Eagle but maybe he meant centers re the big men comment.Well now. Let's not go overboard. I mean, did you forget Tim Duncan or what?!?!?

Everything you said makes sense. He saw what happened with Kobe's last year (RIP Mamba) and I'm sure he wants a bit of that, in addition to the stated goal of playing with his son. Which just makes me feel sorry for Bronny TBH, the fact that he will be forced to participate in Lebron's self-regarding 'look how long I've been able to play in the NBA' parade.....Congrats to the Nuggets. Best team in the West during the regular season and also the best team during the playoffs, so thoroughly deserved through to the Finals. Don't have a preference either way between Jokic or Jimmy to win their first ring, so just wishing for a great series.
Also at the LeBron retirement comments, he's one season away from playing with Bronny like he always said he would, and his ego is too big for him not to wanna have a goodbye tour across the US. He's not going out with a sweep, not going out without everyone knowing they are #Witnessing his last-ever game. Never gonna happen. He needs to get healed up and rested now, and then the drive will come back; I think retirement is on the cards for 2025 or 2026.
