NBA 2021-2022

I don't know if @maniak shares that feeling but it's actually the hopelessness that is more difficult. Hope is a luxury that only you gloryhunters can afford. :D
After last night I'm out of feelings for 48 hours...

But seriously, despite all the silly mistakes, I've enjoyed a twolves season for the first time in a long time and I'm actually looking forward to see what happens.

Fair point

Anyway I guess JPRouve was probably referring to the media mostly rather than this thread specifically, and I have actually seen some pretty wild overreactions from silly talking heads today.

Yeah, this thread is fine. I'm surprised by a few people discovering that KAT is a bit strange though. My issue which to be fair I shouldn't care about is with mainstream media and social media.

Thats not even end of it, being weird is one thing but he is full package weird, when he has chips on his shoulder, when he trash talks, on top of everything, seems he really dont wanna be a center, more on 3 point line than in the paint, guess feck offensive rebounds.

KAT averages more offensive rebounds than someone like Embiid. And KAT has always been a shooter, that's what makes him special. The Wolves lack rebounding but it's not on KAT, it's on the guards and mainly on defense because on offense Vanderbilt has been one of the best rebounder in the league this season like KAT.

Holy shit this is a monster dunk. Does charging only apply if the feet haven´t left the ground?

Oh no, it's 100% a charge but it looks like the refs have applied the rarely-seen "That was too fecking sick to overturn" corollary. Also presumably they wanted to be able to leave the arena safely after the game.

If it's Morant there are two option the ref either count the basket or whistle against the defense. If it's Edwards it's a charge.

Yes, defender has to establish position before the feet leave the ground

Re: Trae, the heat stole his soul in this series, it was honestly pretty dispiriting to see. That said, McMillan man...great RS coach, but he's so bad in the playoffs

The defender has to have established position, so yeah that's probably a charge, but I would have rioted if they called that one off

I mean the feet are set before Morant is in the air it is according to the rules a clear charge foul, the funny thing is that I think that even if the refs had been sent to take a look they wouldn´t have overturned it.

Think this is the worry with Trae - playoff basketball is fundamentally different and his limitations on defense are going to be far more impactful.

I'd argue their run to the ECF last year was hugely overrated - they beat a bad Knicks team as shown this year, they beat the Sixers in freefall (and never would have done so without Simmons' complete meltdown), and despite Giannis being out with a knee injury lost games 5 and 6 to the Bucks comfortably. Feels like they have drunk too much of their own Kool-Aid - that team was flawed last year and those flaws have been badly exposed this year.

Yeah it absolutely should have been called a charge according to the letter of the law - but at the same time that ref would have to live with the infamy of overturning arguably the best dunk of the past decade? Really wouldn't envy having to explain why that was overturned on review into a camera had I been a ref as well

It's not even the best dunk of the season. :nono:

I shared that one because it was overturned even though the defender is moving when Edwards is in the air.

It's extremely extremely close - but you're allowed to move your upper body as long as you don't lean in and as long as your feet are set.

Personally I believe that the advantage should go to the offensive player in these situations and I'd not call that a charge, but I don't think it's egregious or anything.

Your image shows that the feet aren't set. I'm not too bothered by the call if it was how they generally call it but it's not.

Yeah but Ant is also not in the air. Like I said it's very marginal.

Agreed though that you should feel aggrieved. The charge there feels quite harsh.

Jokic just can't do it all by himself. You have to have guard/point forward play in the playoffs in order to win and a 3 point threat. If not, it is tough sledding.

Glad that's over. Defense stepped up in the 4th quarter, but offense struggled most of the game

Don't know what's wrong with Stephen Curry and his FTs. That's 2 more missed tonight.

Glad its over, at this point it started being a torture for Jokic, hamstring thing would get scaned, who knows would he even play next. Jokic and Boogie only two with more than 50% FG i mean, they are just heavy to be that carried and injury to Austin didnt help the already lacking defense.

Good shit from GSW, they looked a bit off tonight but got their game and deservedly moving forward, that game 3 was a breaker.

Unlucky mate! I was convinced it was going at least 6 when Boogie hit that 3 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Wouldn't want to play you guys at all when Murray and MPJ are back.

To be honest Murray is way bigger miss, MPJ with his baby hands cant handle the ball, "only" shooting but still better of a use than someone like Green, whole season being a starter at 35, one thing for sure, Barton has to go, that closing attempt in game 2 or 3 was criminal, also you cant bench him because he cries after like a last time, even worse than Westbrook this season, Westbrook at least has something behind to lean on his status, Barton has feck all.

So it wasnt really unlucky, GSW is way better in current rosters overall and its like a said, well deserved.

Shame we had no Murray or MPJ, we could have given it a real crack.

But at least B2NMVPkic can hold his head high.

Compare these two MVP candidates across the first five games of their respective series:

Points - 31
Rebounds - 13.2
Assists - 5.8
Steals - 1.6
Blocks - 1
Free Throws - 28/33
% points as FT's - 18.1%

Points - 22.8
Rebounds - 11.6
Assists - 2.6
Steals - ZERO
Blocks - 0.4
Free Throws - 40/49
% points as FT's - 35.1%

Hope that clown Nick Wright has this brought up to him when he no doubt shits all over the Joker for bombing out in the first round.

Pretty annoying for Nuggets that their second best player plays the same position as their best player, and it is the only position that you cannot play two of them. Still think that Boogie deputized well for Jokic, and when Murray and MPJ returns, this could be a very good team.

Injuries are killing the playoffs again though. Seems that the winner (again) will be the team that manages to not get their stars injured. So I guess, the Celtics.

Anyone else find it really interesting that Draymond Green is podcasting during the playoffs? He's really fun and engaging to listen to. He goes into some decent detail about his own games v the Nuggets and Jokic and gives his takes on what's happening in the other games.

I've listened to a few of them. He really gets people to open up.. He did one a couple of weeks ago with Steph. It was very enlightening.

Draymond Green will be a top top coach after he retires

Also that's devastating news for the bucks the injury

Well that's devastating for the Bucks.

Oh well, they were the luckiest team I can remember when it came to injuries last season, with their rivals all having those injuries, while them staying fit.

However, there seems to be something wrong with NBA during playoffs with all these injuries, and the championships are decided essentially based on who is lucky to not get injured. For example in 2019, Dubs would have easily won if KD and Klay didn't get injured, last year I think Nets were on course of winning it if one of Kyrie/Harden were fit, while this year seems even more exaggerated with Nets missing Simmons and Harris, Bucks missing Middleton, Suns missing Booker, Denver missing Murray and Porter-Junior, now Butler of Heats getting injured, etc. Is this just my recent bias or things are getting worse?
