NBA 2021-2022

Let's be real, the real reason the league wants play-in is because that's extra games that they can sell commercials and tickets to.

Congrats to the Heat by the way. Missed the game. Had to go out with the family and being an old fart fell asleep when I got home and even worse am now awake at 3 o'clock in the damn morning. :wenger: :annoyed:

Weird series this as every game has been so different. Can’t help feeling anyone who wins it is about to get beaten heavily by Warriors though, in 5 or maximum 6.

I think these w teams are very similar so whenever one hits a hot streak in a game it can easily tilt. I'd expect a much more tactical battle against the Warriors.

Was hoping Celtics would wrap it up last night and get a bit more much needed rest, but looking forward to a tense game 7

This series is weirdly similar to the Boston Milwaukee series but in that Boston had home court while this is them on the road for game 7 . Even in that one a lot of the games were on the road and there was no flow to the play at all and this one is exactly the same

For anybody that hasn't seen it. The finals schedule is out. Much more spread out than the rest of the playoffs with 3 days in between most of the games.

Game 1. June 2. at GS
Game 2. June 5. at GS
Game 3. June 8. at Mia/Bos
Game 4. June 10 at Mia/Bos
Game 5. June 13 at GS (if needed)
Game 6. June 16 at Mia/Bos (if needed)
Game 7. June 19 at GS (if needed)

That looks much better, and hopefully both teams go in with their players fresh and no injuries.

Nitpicking here but I think a 2 day turnaround at the same arena would have been ideal. Tilts the advantage a bit away from the home side.

When the Heat are poor, they really are poor. They may have already lost this after one quarter. Hoped to see a more competitive game.

Miami is struggling when they go small, especially on the defensive end. Butler is coming into the game in the 2nd quarter, Bam is doing good inside, but Miami has gotten no perimeter support in Strus, Herro, etc.

Much closer game, but Heat will have one or two runs in them, how Boston responds and who they go to in the clutch will be important. If Tatum or Brown play like they did in Game 6 down the stretch, they'll lose.

Jimmy has been brilliant in this second quarter. Played all 24 minutes as well.

Game on!

Miami back in the game after a strong 2nd quarter. Defensive switching and funneling the ball towards the wings and corners. Defend the cross court pass and force Boston to take jump shots. Boston didn't run or have easy transition in the 2nd, couldn't attack the paint like they did.

Boston got into the penalty too quickly and Miami took advantage. Get to the line, better looks, and slow down Boston to get their defense set.

Great 2nd half in the making.

Him and Oladipo found a 2 man game in the half court. Butler is attacking now and Celtics can't stop him, especially when Smart is on Butler, but Miami can screen him off and allow Butler to get a good matchup.

Boston obsessed with shooting 3’s. You live by the 3 and you die by it

If Tatum wants to reach that next level and be closer to his idol Kobe, he needs to develop a driving pullup mid range jumper.

Agree overall though, Boston settled for jumpers when they had a double digit lead and stopped attacking the rim and moving off the ball. They just ran into traffic inside then kicked it out way too late in the possession.

This Heat team is pretty meh outside of Butler (who is the best player in this series IMO).

As good as the Celtics defence is I just don’t understand this Miami offence at all . So many really bad players on offence . No idea why they paid Duncan Robinson so much if he can never take the floor in the playoffs

In the clutch time, with a bonus, Celtics are making the same mistakes as in Game 6 to allow Miami back in the game. Attack the time earlier in the set and get Tatum off the ball. He can't create his own shot, especially once he starts to drive.

Celtics probably will give Warriors more of a series. Don't think heat have the offense to keep up with Warriors.

Dumb basketball is dumb, also at 2:30 commentator says "they need a 3" Miami do 4 ez points in 2 possessions, this whole forcing 3 trend is just plain stupid.

Good riddance. Those 5 odd minutes in Q4 when Miami couldn't score a single point while chasing a game 7 is possibly the worst thing I've ever watched in a conference finals game. Should have been disqualified and kicked out at that point.

There it is. Game 7 win away to Miami.

Butler had the moment at the end and pulled up short on the go ahead 3. Boston advances and they have to improve their scoring and such a bad run at the end of the game to allow Miami the chance to take the lead at the end.

That was interesting until it wasn't.

Jimmy, what were you thinking?
