NBA 2019-2020

Yeah I know. Was being sarcastic.

Although people only say Russell was a good luck because of what he's done since he left. In that case, health permitting, I think people will say the same about Ingram in 2 years too. And Lonzo will be a good player.

The Deng Mozgov summer was unbelievably bad. To be honest, it's been a pretty shite 6 years for Lakers.

Yeah I think Lakers might have built two superteams this Summer. One current one in LA and one future one in New Orleans.

I underestimated Kawhi. He understands that it's all just about winning championships. Good move for him, if it goes through.

LeBron might have a shot at winning 2-3 more rings. Excellent for him.

He has already led two teams to a championship.

Sucks for the league as with him there it’s basically impossible they will lose a playoffs series in the next 2 or even 3 years, barring injuries.

I'm not sure that Lebron-AD-Kawhi is a sure fire winner. They still need shooting and if I'm a team like Portland or Houston with 2 excellent guards and that can go small with success then I'll still have confidence I can take them in a 7 game series. 3 guys with not so great injury histories in recent years and I'm not so sure Kawhi and LEbron will be 100% invested in the regular season basketball out in LA.

What's the situation with Green? LA can only offer minimum. Would he take that?

If we can get Igoudala and Green to go with Kuzma, that's not a bad start to building a squad around the Big 3™.

Not sure that's even viable, but if it is it's a decent start.

Such great news to wake up to.

I don't know whether we're such a lock to win it all next season as some on here make it out to be but we're surely favourites now. Add some complementary pieces and we should be good to go.

Also makes me a little bit more confident about the future when LeBron starts to slow down. Leonard is 28, Davis 26.

I can’t see him accepting veteran minimum. Then again maybe LeBron will sort him with a role in Space Jam to compensate.

Never thought Kawhi was that kinda bitch. After these superb playoffs, he's lost all respect from me.
Oh, if you tell him that, he might change his mind!

The regular season means fck all for legitimate championship contenders as long as they get in the playoffs. Yes, homecourt is a goal for some teams, but I highly doubt a team consisting of Lebron, AD, and Kawhi will care too much for it. They'll be ready once the playoffs come.

Injuries can derail any team. We just have to look at the Warriors, who were as sure a bet to win the title as any team, so that is definitely something that can ruin title hopes. Shooting/depth is needed, and the FO will work on that. The allure of playing with the Lakers' big three (given Kawhi signs) should be a huge draw, and I wouldn't bet against some player(s) taking a discount to play for a title.

I think Green said he'd be willing to take a discount to continue to play with Kawhi, but he'll be offered a good lump of change which I feel will be hard for him to turn down. Plus he's already won a couple rings. Dallas is going to be a solid team, plus there is no state tax.

I see that Woj is talking about some sort of franchise tag for NBA players in his latest podcast, surely an interesting idea.

Feel bad for people who actually spent the last 2 years waiting for the warriors dynasty to end just so that they can get a "competitive" NBA again

I think everyone's getting ahead of themselves for now. Isn't he still going to meet the Raptors?

The salary cap system is totally broken in NBA. Doubt I will renew my subscription for next season. NHL is much better anyway.

Seriously, I disliked the NBA because GSW (at least they drafted their core) had too many good players at the same time but if the Lakers do that too, it's ruining it for me.
The NBA was pretty much always like that.
Mostly, there are clear favourites for the title. Suprises are rare. This year's title was Golden States's to lose, which they did because of their injuries.

i won't believe anything until Woj reports it. that RDA guy has got shit wrong before.

Hard to know if this is just the Hollywood media machine desperate for Kawhi to end up at Lakers going into overdrive, or legit news.

He would really feck the Clippers over by waiting so long and then deciding to join the Lakers instead

Not really. Clippers plan is to go big in 2021, not now. If they have a chance with Kawhi then great, but ultimately they still have a solid collection of young players, cap flexibility and two of Miami's picks which could be good. It's not like they would have signed anyone good had they known Kawhi would reject them before.

Not buying into that. They layed the foundation for a full year and put everything into place to get him to sign right now according to Woj.

I'm just waiting for that first interview from James where he whines about not having enough help.

Kinda like how curry is always injured when he loses.
People keep coming up with this, but apart from the 2016 finals when has Curry lost because he was injured?

So he did it once and he was correct to do it then. He played 44 minutes in January and had a triple double. The played a 7 man rotation and one of those 7 was DeAndre Liggins.
