NBA 2018-2019

Yeah I also preferred watching Warriors pre-Durant. They were a fun team even if I still disliked them for the most part. And those series against Thunder and Cavs were super fun, we haven’t had it since.

Actually if Draymond goes as well I’d actually be inclined to like Warriors. :nervous:

Hey! Hey! Calm down now! ;)

If KD leaves, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Dubs somehow make a deal to get LeBron for Green and some other pieces. That would be fun.

I don't care about kd staying or not but at this stage I want him to stay just for how much it will annoy some people

Lebron with curry and klay would be so good.
Dunno. Unlike KD, LeBron needs the ball at all times to show his best. KD deferred to Steph as the main playmaker, no way that LeBron will do the same. And KD is an easy player to play with, while with LeBron at times the other players become spectators and catch and shoot players (which for Klay would be great).

For what is worth, would be interesting to see, and there are some rumours that LeBron might want out after Ty Lue fiasco.

@Sarni will go in hiding if KD stays. He has done a total Glaston with Bale when it comes to KD this year. Like he is KD's best friend or something.

I won’t. I will admit that I was wrong, simply. It will be awful for the league though, possibly worse than the first time he made the bitch move and he will obviously never be considered at the level of LeBron which seems to be what he wants.

I doubt I’ll be wrong here though. Even Woj seems to expect him to go and you won’t have anyone more reliable than him. Lots of things pointing in that direction, him selling his Malibu house, moving offices etc.

Lakers won’t trade him. These are stupid rumors.

LeBron gets what LeBron wants.

He won't ever be able to be considered at the level of LeBron because he isn't as good as LeBron. It won't matter if he plays for GSW or any other team.

He can finish as a top 10 ever player though, maybe in the level of Kobe/Duncan, if he continues getting rings and fMVPs. And Dubs give him the best chance to do so.

Cavs were leading 2-1, and then went 0-3 when they lost both of them. Everything could have happened, but I think it is unlikely that Dubs would have won without Cavs getting injured. Imagine Dubs losing in the same year Klay and Draymond while Cavs would have had both Love and Irving. Who would have won? Well, a lot of people claimed that Dubs lost in the next year cause they missed Green for one game. You also claimed (something that I agree with), that if Iggy didn't go off last season, Dubs would have finished Rockets in 5.

Injuries matter, like it or not. Warriors were a big contender but hardly a team that easily defeats everything (bar Rockets last season) when they didn't have KD.
KD allows them a safety blanket that comes with the best ISO scorers in the game. The ability to score even when an offence becomes stagnant. The team obviously functions without him in the team, but every system has the potential to break down. When that happens you need someone to get you buckets basically without assistance. Thats what KD does, just like game 3 in last years final.

Totally agree with this. Their plan A is great, but KD gives them a plan B which is near as good as plan A.

And actually, I don't think that their play suffers when KD is there. He is happy to share the ball, hardly monopolizes it (both Steph and Green have the ball more in their hands than him), while giving excellent defence.

Nuggets vs Portland, who ya got?

I've got a Jokic triple double with Murray closing the deal.

Hoping that Blazers win. Really like how they play, plus they are harmless against Dubs. On the other side, Jokic is reaching Green-level of being a cnut, though it is actually very enjoyable at watching him play.

Blazers to win and then get sweeped from Dubs, while the other series go to 7.

Thank feck there is a game in an hour and a half, so I don't have to think about football anymore.

Hope Raptors can win it mainly because of Kawhi, although I don't believe either team can go past Bucks in the final.

I think that was how it was supposed to be and in the first year after some initial teething troubles that's what happened. That first year I think was the best that KD has fit in with the Dubs. Over the last couple of years though I think the balance has become steadily more and more skewed to the point where Steph and Klay are deferring way too much to KD with the iso style becoming much more prevalent. I was listening to Chris Broussard a few days ago and he basically said that when someone can go and get you a bucket at will it's human nature to continually let him do so even if the team as a whole doesn't function as well. In the last couple of years I feel that's whats been happening with the Warriors.

I'm glad I didn't say that. Karma can be a bitch!

But that's Steph's fault not anyone else's. Strangly Steph who controls the offense has a number of off days especially in the playoffs. When the Dubs system works well pretty much due to Steph the KD heroics are limited and he doesn't seem to mind.

I actually think it's Steve Kerr's fault to be honest. I think more and more the offense is designed so that KD can get to his spots rather than the flowing ball movement we used to see. As to Steph having more off days in the playoffs vs the regular season I'm not sure that's true either, it's just that playoff games are more scrutinized than regular season games. He has a fair number of clunkers in the regular season as well, its just that people don't tend to notice those as much.

Didn't Steph went to Kerr just a few weeks ago and asked him to run more plays with Durant, essentially involving him more?

I know that the first year that KD was in Oakland that Steph initially thought he had deferred to much to KD, but that was ironed out by the turn of the year (2017) and things went pretty smoothly from then on. As to more recently, I didn't read anything along those lines but I easily could have missed it. Personally, I do think that Steph and Klay defer too much to KD but it does seem to be by design and they are still in line for a possible three-peat so Steve Kerr is obviously doing something right. I guess that's why he gets paid the big bucks and I just tap away at the computer.

Denver would be even more of a walk for Warriors.

I have Jokic for quadruple double. Double digits uncalled fouls to go with points, rebounds and assists.

I hope the Nuggets win so I'm picking them. Dame Lillard is streaky so you never know quite what you are going to get. It would be a big ask for Dame to hot four games out of seven but I'd rather not take the chance. I also think the Dubs match up better with the Nuggets. They've blown them out by 14+ points on three occasions this year. So it's Nuggets for me.

Oh yeah, they have nothing to worry the Dubs, while Blazers have Damo and CJ, but I like Blazers and would like to see them reaching the conference finals. Also, Jokic will annoy the shit out of me when he gets the 15th uncalled foul per match, which consequently would make both Green and KD being ejected with 2 technical fouls.

Finally, KD - CJ duel!

Neithet the Nuggets nor the Blazers have anything to worry the dubs. Come on. If anything, Denver might be tougher because of Jokic and altitude, it would be more physically draining. Still doesn't go past 5 unless they stop paying attention like vs Clippers

I hope Blazers win because Dame, i think Denver will win because Jokic

...and i'm taking 76ers over Raptors. Game 7 Lowry vs Embiid's body breaking down? I take the odds on Lowry

Dame has just one shot so far, and Blazers seem unable to shoot threes. Could get ugly soon if things don't change.

Dame is channeling his inner Steph from the first half the other night. For the Blazers sake I hope he can channel his inner Steph from the second half as well.
