NBA 2016-17

Dubs putting up a show tonight, 62% shooting in the first half. 80 points despite being 10/21 from Free throws

Wow, 149 points for Warriors.

Predictable loss to Cavaliers for Trail Blazers. We are much worse than them and it did not help that they had 5 days of rest before the game while we were on back to back and third game in 4 days.

I wish the fecking Bulls would be consistent. Good or bad. Doesn't much matter. Just don't beat the Jazz and Trailblazers and Lakers then lose to the fecking Nuggets, especially after having a big lead. Fred's gotta find a better second unit lineup. The games they lose are usually the games where the second unit gets demolished.
MCW and McDermott are a big a part of the second unit. Things will go back to normal when they return.

6th triple double of the season, I was only able to follow the score and he was barely in double digits by the 3rd, not sure how he ended with 36-12-18.

18 assists without knowing when to pass the ball, not bad.

Trying not to beat a dead horse here. He was 9/25 - 36% shooting with 7 turnovers. The rest of the team team were 39/70 - 56% shooting with 6 turnovers.

You need to watch the game. He missed a lot of shots in OT because he was absolutely gassed after dragging the team back from 13 points down in the last. His TOs probably aren't even that bad when you factor in his high usage rate either. Although of course you have to accept that he will turn the ball over at times, just who he is.

Yeah if you ask him to cut down on the TOs he will lose the aggressiveness and the X-factor that makes him the player he is, just need to accept that as something that comes with his style of play.

I've got to admit, I didn't actually watch this one. @Aldo will never let me hear the end of this. :nono::)

:D You can watch him now. 7th triple double of the season, 4th in last 6 games. Insane.

15 more assists. Must share ball more.
I didn't see this one either but the stats are almost identical to the Nuggets game. Russ shoots 8/22 (36%) with 5 turnovers and the rest of the team shoot 34/61 (56%) with 5 turnovers. This triple double stuff looks great, but the last two games his team mates have shot lights out at 56%.

Those stats are expected. The rest of the team has Russ constantly driving in, drawing defenders, creating space and picking them out with his passing in great positions with high percentage shooting opportunities - whereas Russ himself is often has to take difficult shots, is double teamed and doesn't have anyone else in the team with his passing ability.

They've still got to make the shots. To listen to people on here you'd think his team mates were a bunch of athletically challenged bumbling, ham-handed klutzes.

See the edit.

The problem with OKC is that Russ aside they have a lot of one way players who don't stay consistent. Everytime Oladipo isnt missing open shots and actually contributing they look like they can win, others like Kanter are handy scorers but a liability in defense. I think eventually Oladipo, Adams and Russ will start moving the ball better and score more evenly but at the moment it's a sorry one man show. They can really be in trouble for the playoffs if they keep playing like this, and that would be such a shame for a team that finished as Conference Finalists last season.

The most important thing is that they need to stop relying on Russ for every single play.

Not watching this game but so far it looks like KAT is having a bit of fun with Zaza.
It's not really Zaza, he's actually only played about 8 minutes so far and the Warriors were leading while he was in (+10 so far). When the second unit went in they went ice cold on offense and with Draymond also being out they can't defend on the other end either. 0-5 in second quarter so far as well.

Definite improvement in defense as the quarter progressed. Only allowed 15 points throughout. Really miss Draymond obviously on defense but the Dubs offensive flow is really disrupted when he's not there.

Strange half with Warriors starting really hot but then going cold for a long period(including a 5 minute period without a single point). The big 3 scored the first 28 points for the Dubs but slowly the others have started to contribute more. TWolves are a good team and shouldn't really be 5-10

Say what you want about Godbrook's shooting but he is an absolute beast.

I wonder how he his game will transition into his 30's though as his athleticism wanes. Lucky he knows how to pass a ball around.

Would you take Bogut back? Why did he move on in the end, to make room for Durant?

Re. Andrew Bogut, unfortunately the NBA doesn't normally allow restructured contracts so given the way the situation unfolded, it wasn’t even possible for Bogut to take less money to stay and I don't think Dubs management wanted to pay full price.

As to taking him back next year or replacing him this year, I think the Warriors are hedging their bets right now. They are currently 8th in salaries as far as NBA payrolls are concerned and have about 13.6 million in luxury tax space available if they want to go there. I think they want to see how Pachulia integrates into the team in the coming months and/or if Damian Jones can provide anything as far as rim protection is concerned before (if) they make a move.

Westbrook with his 3rd triple-double in a row. Eighth of the season. Got this one in 20 minutes. And he is now averaging a triple-double for the season. An absolute machine.

12 in a row for the Dubs, didn't play very well but a win is a win.
That's actually generous. For long stretches they were really poor especially with the Hawks being on the second night of a back to back. But like you say, a win is a win.

On the plus side their defense is actually pretty good when they need it to be.

The team overall is now way too dependent on the big 4(those 4 are amazing), but when they have off days the bench is pretty weak. The good thing is that Iguodala has been playing well recently and providing a bit more depth.

I really like Clark as well, I think he can be a very good starter some day.

fecking hell! Westbrook ties the game with 8 seconds to go with a clutch 3. No more nonsense of letting others take the shot in these situations!

And without even having a great game he's just recorded a fourth consecutive triple double. Ridiculous.

Game going to overtime.
