NBA 2014-2015

If LeBron pulls this off, it'll be one of the greatest Finals performances of all-time. That said, this series is over imo. Such a shame because it could've been a very interesting one.

I hate to take credit away from these guys, because they're an amazing team. And they've done well managing their player's game times. But they've had an insane amount of luck with injuries compared to their opponents.

Pelicans: Holiday, Evans out
Grizzlies: Conley, Allen
Rockets: Beverley, D-Mo
Cavaliers: Love, Irving

The West was kind of trash in the regular season too.

Might be true but would they not be in the Finals if all those players were available? The road would've been much harder for sure but they were easily the best team in the West and still would've reached the Finals I think. Out of those three Western teams, only Memphis could give them a good fight. Houston's game suits them perfectly and the Pelicans are just not good enough.

All these injuries are indeed a big disappointment though, the playoffs in general could've been much, much more interesting without all these injuries. But likewise, it's not like the Cavs had a tough road to the Finals. The East is such a poor state right now, especially compared to the West. In that regard, it would be cool if Durant decides to join the Wizards.

The Spurs were a 6 seed and the Thunder had Russell Westbrook averaging a triple double for a month straight and they didn't make the playoffs but the West was trash, got it.

Maybe they've been lucky with injuries because they've managed their players game time well?

Steph's mpg this season is one of the lowest of any MVP ever I believe. That's not an accident, ridiculously efficient playing less minutes than other superstars. It's very intelligent and very good planning by their coaching staff, not lucky.

Kyrie is made out of matchsticks man :(, has he ever completed a whole season?

Not at all.

I think it's fair to say that if all those teams were at full strength the Warriors would have played a lot more games even if they emerged victorious. But ultimately, there won't be any asterisk next to the Warriors' chip, and that's fair.

I agree.

Also Kerr is known to not really push guys hard in practice.

Stephen A Smith being Stephen A Smith has been killing Blatt all day for playing Irving so many minutes. But, I really can not blame Blatt. This is the NBA finals all or nothing. This is why you rest players during the season to get to this point. And really Kyrie and LeBron were all the Cavs had in game 1. Irving plays less minutes the Cavs do not make it to overtime.

You could easily say the same about the Cavs road to the Finals. Celtics don't deserve to be in the playoffs, Bulls shit the bed whenever they go up against LeBron and the Hawks team weren't the same since the playoffs started with their injuries along the way.

Also won the West while OKC were basically Kevin Durant-less for the entire season. Injuries have ruined this entire season and playoffs.

depends on who you're rooting for...me being a Melo fan personaly also found this season to be a dissapointment, however you can't take anything away from Curry & co.
So a team that went 67-15 would've come 2nd presumably? Not impossible, but highly unlikely. Curry has been incredible all season, and he's not slowing down in the playoffs whatsoever. Even broke a couple records along the way.

No I think the Warriors are the best team in the league, and still would win the title even without the other teams having those injuries. It is just disappointing that they haven't really tested themselves against the best.

One thing I underestimated is that without Love or Irving they have no liabilities defensively. So while their offense is not great they are great defensively with no Kyrie or Love.

Man, Lebron is just killing it.

In a good way or bad way (stats wise)?

Warriors are only 6/29 from behind the 3 pts line.

Imagine if they shot that for the remainder of this series.

Irving was great defensively in game 1 until his injury. Apart from that I agree.

Weird seeing his field goal percentage so low though this season. Never really seen him below 50% before.

Not since 2009. He has gone through several phases in his career. As a rookie, he was a bad outside shooter. He basically just bulldozed his way to the rim. Then once Cleveland started getting good, he was still basically the only outlet for scoring on that team. Once he was in Miami, he played a lot more at the 4 (which you can see here) and didn't have to force bad shots anymore.

Good way. Another triple double.
