NBA 2014-2015

@Zarlak what have you done in the last 12 minutes? Dunked on anyone yet?

Defending in that game is all about allowing no or little space. Follow you man, if he gets the ball just mark him as closely as possible. It is possible to steal the ball but not very efficient, you end up fouling more than getting the ball. Really your aim should be to get them to take as difficult a shot as possible.

I actually did, only the once though. I kind of slapped it out of his hand as he was running at me and then I stood next to the ball watching it on the floor before I realised 'oh I can pick that up' and then came the dunk. I mostly go for 3's.

That's basically all I ever do in that game. I just catch and shoot constantly

I feel that allowing no space has become quite ineffective if you defend on the perimeter in NBA 2k15 as opposed to the older NBA2k games.
Now other PGs or SGs just blow by me if I get really close on defense and score an easy dunk or layup.
I have a lot more success with giving the attacker as much space as possible without allowing him an unchallenged jump shot.
Maybe I'm just shit at staying in front of the attacker if I get really tight on D though and better players don't have that problem.

It's true that steals are quite inefficient, I only try to get a steal on passes, never when an opponent is in possession (at least not when I have a player with a shit steals rating).

I play with WSAD while I wait for a controller to arrive, so defending is a ballache because sticking to a man is quite clunky. Should be loads easier when my controller arrives. Won the NBA championship and had my pick of teams, torn between the Lakers, Heat, Cavs and Thunder, went with Thunder. I didn't fancy spending half the season on the bench behind Bryant or Wade and I spent the year smack talking LeBron on social media.

Also where do non-US folk watch NBA? Sky Sports don't seem to have it this year, it's gone to BT.

You can just get an NBA league pass which lets you watch all games on any device, it sets you back around £150 though for the basic package.

Streaming is just as easy as it is for football though.

Also lol @ Kobe last night, set a record for missed field goals last night as well as probably costing the Lakers the game.

Raptors still on a roll though

ESPN can feck off, I watched the highlights on their website of the game, and all they showed were Kobe's misses. As if that was the most important part of the game. EEjits

True, but he did pretty much cost Lakers the game..

My God, people are really going to town on Rose for his comments, I really didn't think people would be this upset. Sure it wasn't the smartest thing to say, but I can't watch Sports Center or anything like that without them talking about it constantly.

“I’m thinking about long term. I’m thinking about after I’m done with basketball. Having graduations to go to, having meetings to go to, I don’t want to be in my meetings all sore or be at my son’s graduation all sore just because of something I did in the past. [I'm] just learning and being smart.”

Those comments? It makes sense he's thinking that way, but I perfectly understand why Bulls fans could be upset about this. They're paying him a lot of money, he's the face of the franchise, and he simply says he's thinking about his life after basketball? I'd be mad too, I guess. I'm not saying I agree with it, but you're not just a human being when you play professional sports. The owners, the franchise, the supporters all see you as some sort of 'product' and you need to deliver, otherwise you're no good. How many professional athletes have been rushed back from injuries time in, time out? Zlatan, Torres, Diego Costa last year, T-Mac, Brandon Roy, only to name a few. It might hurt them in the long run, but their team was depending on them. Having been out as much and long as Rose has the last couple of years, I think he should be more careful with comments like that.

Yeah, I get why he would think about things like that after his horrible couple of years with injury. Then again, I could see the other side; you're getting paid millions to play; forget the ethics and letting down fans, you owe it to the team from a contractual perspective to prioritize Bulls now over being sore in 20 years.

That said, it's not worth having Mike and Mike go on about it for hours at a time, jeez.

Wiz off to their best start in 40 years. Played last night with a legit 10-man rotation. And this is without Beal. Thinking Wiz will shoot it out with Miami all year for the division.

I was at the Brooklyn v OK game a week ago, OKC were absolutely horrible. I know they have injuries but they were an utter shambles with Durant and Westbrook.

Tell me about it!

The game against the Bulls will be interesting tonight, not sure if DeRozan is going to have it easy against someone like Butler.
I am firstly a bulls fan, and then a raptors fan because of my proximity to them. I am looking forward to it big time.

Nice way to cap off the biggest comeback win in franchise history. VC's reactions are so cool in those situations, made me thinks of this:

Wow, Pelicans dropped 80 points on the Wolves in the first half alone. 69-114 right with a minute to go in the third quarter right now: 45-point lead...

Pelicans trying to one-up the beatdown the Mavs gave to the 76ers yesterday who were up 73-29 at halftime and won 123-70. They would have won without scoring a basket in the 2nd half.

I dunno, they've got a chance. I thought OKC sans KD and Russ would be terrible, turns out they're just not good. Not good could be enough to hang on until January.

A couple ugly games on opposite sides of the spectrum. Houston over OKC 69-65 and GS over the Lakers 136-115. GS had 115 points at the end of the 3rd. The Warriors are probably the most fun team to watch in the league, their offense is like playing a 2K.

Bryant with 44 in three quarters but they still lose with more than 20 points. I'm starting to wonder if he's just playing these days to get past Jordan on the all-time scoring list.

It's the only thing he has to play for this season.
Hes getting chastised for his numbers (missed shots) this year but look at who else there is. Lin was 0-2 yesterday. The next best after Kobe were Ed Davis and Sacre. When Sacre is taking on some offensive burden, somethings wrong in a big way. Actually when hes taking on any burden tbf.
