Well, that was a hell of an exciting 4th quarter and overtime in the LA-GS game. Lakers come back from 14 down in the 4th to win in OT, Kobe was great and Meeks and Artest hit key three pointers.

I had a hard time rooting for LA, the way the Warriors were playing.

What a game! First 4 game win streak of the season in their first OT game of the season!

Thanks to Danny's advice I didn't count the Lakers out until the end, I was ready to put money on the Warriors at the end of 3. Tough on the Warriors, but some key turnovers in the 4th will haunt them. Still, both teams made big shots coming down the stretch, too many to count, really. Great stuff.

Exactly! Look at the Mavs today, what a great game that was! They ended the game with a great 7-0 run in the last 1:13 to lose only by 38!

Good win for the Lakers. The quality of their players is starting to show..

Awful refereeing though..

LeBron was always a beast but it now seems he is permanently playing in beast mode. Been a fantastic 2012 for him, I hope he chokes in 2013.

Good half from the Heat. The only downside is the fact that they're somehow only up by 6..

I think we're in here for an exciting finish..

Good win for the Lakers. Finally getting a small run going. Nash making a HUGE difference for the team. His class just shows.

That shouldn't be a flagrant foul at all.

I don't know why the commentators kept going about a "flagrant" foul.. Clearly they were going for the ball. Luckily they reviewed it and got it right..

EDIT:  How is that a foul on Wade??

Lovely from Durant.

Some of the calls today in this game and the lakers game were very strange. The refs must have been drinking a bit too much eggnog before both games.

In the Lakers game they got one wrong even after they reviewed it! (out-of-bounds, Knicks ball after being touched last by Carmelo!)

Miami wins a close game. Good contest, right now these two are my pick for the finals.

That was ridiculous.

I remember in the Lakers-Celtics finals a few years back they reviewed an out of bounds call where Gasol and KG were the players involved - ball came off the black hand but they called it Celtics ball. Sometimes you wonder what exactly they're looking at.

Well that was an exciting finish! Didn't quite understand why Durant took that 3-pointer in the end..

Anyway, better from Miami, but I still feel their defense is still not as good as last year. Just looks a tad slower.. Still good win.

EDIT: By the way, Westbrook need to calm down a bit. He's gonna kill somebody in the playoffs this year! Having said that, the frustration of last year IS showing on him and Durant, which could be quite dangerous come June, as we saw last year.

@LakersReporter: The whole "The Lakers were 1-11 when Kobe scores 30+ points" thing is dying. They've now won 5 straight in which he scores 30.

Nash is making a difference. I'd still like to see an improvement on our D but the offense looked very good and had a nice rhythm to it in tonight's game.

There was one telling moment from the Lakers-Knicks game.

Near the end of the half, or the end of the game, with less than 10 on the clock, Kobe actually passed the ball to Nash.

You heard me right. Kobe passed the ball in clutch time.

Yeah I remember that play. First, Kobe respects Nash that much. Second, he wanted the ball back immediately. He was stuck in the corner, so he passed the ball and wanted to post up his defender but Nash turned the other way and passed it to Gasol.

Javale McGee is such an enigma.

Lakers down early, need to improve D (what's new) and FT shooting.

Another semi-triple double from James (27-12-8). Good win.. Tough month coming with plenty of road games..

I think Bron-Bron has now scored 20 or more points in every game this season. Remarkable record, wonder how long he can keep it going?

Very inconsistent half from the Lakers. Down by 3, giving up too many offensive rebounds and easy buckets. The fast-break also needs work.

I really don't get fouls in basketball. The ones where it looks a clear foul they don't give but then they blow for the most innocuous contact. Fergie would annihilate these officials.

 True.. Luckily there is no offside in basketball...

I think they only call it when they see it.. The problem, they miss many of them..

Howard ejected. feck off.

McGee with a nice dunk then is called for a technical. The enigma.

Lakers have given up 96 points after 3 quarters - the D must improve big time if we really want to make it past the first round of playoffs.

Not sure why Jamison is not on the bench. Not had a good season but he can contribute off the bench.

 I think the commentators jinxed it.. "Down by four and they'll get the ball back so they can cut the deficit further before the end of this quarter!" Ended the quarter down by 9..

96 in three quarters is just too much by the way.. But this game is not over yet..

Another cracker involving the Knicks, despite them missing Melo and Felton. All tied up with 1.0 second left! Looks like OT!

Too many defensive breakdowns, gave up too many offensive rebounds and without Dwight we lacked a defensive presence. Poor from Lakers, giving up far too many points again. Sort it out FFS!

At least Nash looks good, makes the game so easy for himself and others.

The way Artest dribbles, stops, randomly looks around and then does feck all reminds me of Valencia. Sacre should just get pom-poms and become a full-time cheerleader.

Wooooooow! Was not expecting JR to make that one! At the buzzer!

A game to forget for the Lakers, everything went wrong for them tonight.. Wouldn't read too much into it though. Just one game, still some things to adjust, but they are improving. Nash looks terrific.

The Knicks were playing without 4 of their 5 starters tonight (Carmelo, Shumpert, Amare, Felton) and also without Sheed and with Novak suffering a concusion the night before.

The injuries really remind me of United, although I guess that could be atributed with my bad luck regarding the teams I root for.

Not only is it seriously bad for the Knicks, but it also makes the games less exciting.
Whenever Carmelo isn't playing I just don't "feel it", having the other guys out is bad enough, but it's just getting ridiculous.

Funny thing about the injuries though, apart from plantar fascitis on Sheed's (& Camby's at one point) feet, their injuries don't have anything to do with them having the oldest team in the NBA due to 4 of the 6 oldest guys in the league playing for them (Thomas, Kidd, Sheed, Camby)

Contact is allowed in basketball, but the league has gotten much softer over the years in terms of blowing the whistle for ticky tack fouls. I think my biggest pet peeve is that hand checking is no longer allowed along the perimeter - there is absolutely no reason to blow the whistle for incidental contact 25 feet away from the basket. Nothing good or bad is going to happen from it, so just let the players play on.

I think Dwight is a huge crybaby and the more I watch the more it looks like he's still laboring from his back surgery. He doesn't seem to be moving as well as he used to and I remember a distinct play on Christmas where he caught the ball under the basket and tried a ridiculous reverse layup attempt whereas in the old days he would have just elevated and flushed the ball down with authority.

Javale is a baffling player, oodles of athletic talent but no basketball IQ whatsoever. I think people need to cut him some slack because he was in such a terrible environment (Washington Wizards) for his career before Denver. He's still very young and once he learns to play the game he'll protect the rim as well as Ibaka.

I think the bright side to the injuries is that neither Felton nor Melo are one of the "old guys." If this was a playoff game Carmelo would have 100% played, and the Knicks have adequate backup for Felton. I thought JR was incredible last night and it cannot be stated enough that Mike Woodson has done an incredible job.

As long as we have Melo, we have a chance against anyone.

Avery Johnson has just been fired as Brooklyn Nets head coach. From coach of the month last month to being fired at the end of this month....

Deron Williams sure didn't help Avery's cause either.

Avery Johnson took the Mavs to the finals and really should have won it, I think he's a very good coach. Unless they have someone better lined up, I don't like that move.

Some other lucky team will get to upgrade their management situation.

Twitter suggesting Phil is #1 target for the Nets. Wouldn't be a bad choice!
