He'll be back, I have no doubt. A year of rehab and he'll probably come back better, knowing him. It's just the lost season, after this last one was already a throw-away, that hurts.

Imagine what this guy is feeling right now, having said this one day before Kobe's injury (after the 47 point game against Portland).

I'm not big on sports news, did those two get convicted of rape?

Jonny Evans was accused, should I call him a rapist?

I suspect Eboue will answer that with a resounding yes...

This really sucks. Kobe gave everything he had, every game. Lakers would have been making the playoffs because of him. Even though they might not have gone far, Lakers with Kobe would always be a threat, and Lakers could have caused upsets.
This is the worst thing, so close to the playoffs, and the only reason they came so far is Kobe, and now he's the one missing the playoffs.

I've got no doubt he's going to return back next season, and continue to perform good again, but it just hurts. Coming this far, and in the end him getting injured.

Convicted? No, but neither did O.J. Simpson.

It's pretty clear from following the cases that they were guilty of it. Kobe settled a civil case out of court and publicly apologized to the victim. Roethlisberger has also been accused of rape by three different women.

The one Roethlisberger actually did rape happened at a bar that was owned by my boss at the time. The girl he raped worked for one of my classmates' aunt. From both sides, they said he was guilty as feck. Think she got a decent payoff.

Prediction Review Time

goodevil's divined predictions:

Miami: 65-17
New York: 44-38
Detroit: 20-62

Closest to the Miami total but is obviously blinded by his irrational hatred for Detroit and he even let that spill over to teams with former Pistons like Rasheed's Knicks. Poor form, goodevil.

:lol::lol::lol:

I don't think Miami will reach 65 wins.

My prediction is 57-25.

Idiot!

Eboue's infallible predictions:

Miami: 62-20 but still tacky as hell
Detroit: 51-31
Will Bynum: All NBA First Team
Tayshaun Prince: Still ugly
Danny1982: 4 sleepless nights worrying about Charlie Villaneuva

Miami is tacky, Prince is ugly and Danny's worrying about Charlie Villaneuva gives me three out of five. The Pistons won't win 51 this year. I had the most correct predictions so I win. If Bynum makes the All NBA First Team, that will just be a cherry on top of my awesome prediction sundae.

No Eboue, you were disqualified because of this:

Detroit: 51-31

They didn't even win 31!

Anyway, Miami did pass my expectations, but I don't think many saw the Heat going on that freak of a streak.. Got to give it to gooDevil though, looks like he's gonna be right on the money! (He was very harsh on New York though, and just a tiny weeny little bit too pessimistic about the pistons).

You should have taken that into account.. David Stern didn't suddenly appear this season, he's been around for quite a long time..

Also, I should get three points for three laughing smileys, each representing a win the Pistons needed to get to 31 wins..

They're the ones controlling David Stern and his officiating lackeys. It's always guesswork on whether or not they will order the NBA to make sure the Pistons lose. Can't do it every year and arouse suspicion, obviously, so it can be hard to truly take it into account.

The way you'll know if this is a fixed year is if Will Bynum doesn't even make NBA 2nd team. 1st team is arguable but 2nd team will be the true measure of how deep the corruption goes.

This is the frouth straight year for Detroit with less than 31 wins. Hardly guesswork.. :p

Regardless, you should have taken it into account, or not given a prediction for Detroit altogether..

Sorry Eboue, better luck next year.

In other years we have been rebuilding. This year's team was a potential great cut down before it had a chance to shine. There is nothing more heartbreaking than wasted potential.

Rest in peace, 2012-2013 Pistons, you were too good for this world. :(

So what about the Lakers? Looks like they're going to go against OKC in the first round... Do they have a chance?

They did show today though that they can play Deeefence! Good sign.

San Antonio will be going against Houston with a semi-fit Parker.. Houston smelling blood?

Sounds like Dwight did well? I was watching SportsCenter, and heard Magic say if Howard doesn't lead the Lakers to the playoffs they shouldn't even consider re-signing him. Thought that was a bit harsh.

I hope that the Lakers run them close, winning maybe 2 games, so that OKC don't have too much rest before facing the Clippers (who i think would be next up)

He and Pau did very well defensively. Offensively, he did well but it was the perimeter guys really (especially Blake) who got it done. It certainly didn't look like it was "Dwight's team", was more of a team effort, but the Lakers certainly should do all they can to hold on to Howard, because without him, I'm almost sure they won't make the playoffs next season (especially if Kobe ends up missing most of next season)..

Remarkably if we beat Houston, we'll take the #7 seed and hopefully avoid OKC.

I think we'll lose.

Gasol...

Pau Gasol pleads for brother Marc Gasol’s help in pushing the Lakers into the playoffs

"I told him to please go out there and compete and try to win the game," said Pau.

Did he get a positive response?

"He said, 'We'll see,' because last night they played the starters 24 minutes. They probably play the same the next game," said the Lakers' forward/center.

It's a bit strange though, considering the Lakers have their destiny in their hands, and all they need is to win their last game at home.

For my fellow stat monkeys, the best measure of a team's quality, their average point difference:

1- 9.4 Oklahoma City
2- 7.9 Miami
3- 6.6 San Antonio
4- 6.5 Los Angeles Jr.
5- 4.9 Denver
6t- 4.2 Indiana
6t- 4.2 New York
8. 4.0 Memphis
9. 3.6 Houston
10- 1.8 Brooklyn
11- 1.1 Los Angeles Sr.
12- 0.8 Oakland
13- 0.5 Atlanta
14- 0.3 Chicago
15t- 0.1 Utah
15t- 0.1 Boston
