Yeah, as you say he should have said that in private and not public.

I'm surprised Gasol has said that because Kobe is one of his biggest defenders in the side and this isn't the time to be saying divisive comments.

I guess that tells you how bad things are on that team. And personally I think Gasol is right.

Looks like D'Antoni is siding with Kobe on this one..

"Right now, our horizons are short term, I'm not looking long term. I don't think anybody on this court is long term. Our focus should be defensively. Offensively, we're doing OK. Whether you like the way we're going or not, we're OK."

Entertaining half.

Gasol has been very good. Curry excellent. Lakers need to win this game.

 - D'Antoni and defense -

I hope he's not looking long-term because he knows he will be sacked. His refusal to sit Kobe for more than 30 seconds in the past few games is ridiculous and shows he has no control of his star player and no intention to worry about the long-term effects.

The Jazz will lose one more game.. The problem for the Lakers is that I think the Spurs will beat them, because they're still aiming for the number 1 spot.

If Kobe has done his knee, we are fecked.

Edit: Back up, hopefully he's okay

Kobe has to come out. For fecks sake D'Antoni you utter cnut grow a pair and sit him down!

Still in the game. Unfeckingbelievable

If D'Antoni is waiting for Kobe to tell him he wants to sit, he is kidding himself. Pathetic coaching. cnut.

As if he's heard you.. He's taking Gasol out. :D

It's ridiculous! I mean, does he not realise if we somehow make it into the playoffs we might actually need Kobe? The minutes have been a joke, playing him injured is uber-ridiculous.

Kobe!!!!! He is not human.

Play some defense now you cnuts...

Edit: Kobe down for the 3rd time. I believe he's played the entire game so far. Ridiculous.

And Kobe is done, possibly for the season. What an effort from him today and all season.

He missed an open shot! Absolutely shit defense but he missed! Come on D12...

Lakers win!

Steph Curry almost did the impossible. Unbelievable!

If Kobe isn't back for the last two games then the Lakers are in huge trouble, although I think he'll be back for the next game..

Well that was a really entertaining game and thank God we won!

Gasol superb, Howard did well. Kobe is just a warrior, but it is really shit coaching not to give him a rest. Hope he is ok and the injuries are not too serious.

GSW are a fun side to watch. Would like to see them go against OKC in the playoffs.

Finally, time to sleep :boring:

Lakers saying Kobe may have torn his Achilles :(

Good job Coach cuntface.

I hope he does come back, he deserves one more shot for #6 just because he's been the only one who has given his all this season, but you have to question if that is the end Kobe?

We know he won't want to end like that and he will fight to come back but with the severity of this injury (it's meant to be quite serious) and his age, it might just be the end of the road for him. Also, I think his contract is up next season and I don't see Lakers renewing it if he's injured.

If the Lakers use the disabled player exception on Kobe for next season, would his wages still be included in the salary cap? Could see them potentially amnesty him to avoid paying the tax while he's out and giving him a new contract for much lesser money when he's recovered.

I don't know about the Disabled Player Exception, but amnestying him would be the best business decision to make. Problem is, you don't amnesty Kobe Bryant given everything he has done for your organisation and he deserves a better end to his career than that.

Also, if they amnestied him, doesn't that give another side the opportunity to sign him? Or can he reject joining someone else?

This really fecks up the off-season. Question marks over Gasol and Howard's futures, the bench needs improving, Artest needs to go, the coach needs to get the feck out of there and now Kobe's health. I genuinely think Mike Brown has put a voodoo spell on us :(

Edit: it seems if Kobe does get amnestied, the Lakers would save $80 million but Kobe would still get his $30 million on his contract and then be able to re-sign at the end of the 2014 season. The PR would take a big hit though.
