I'm just gonna post the list again for this page (for the people who didn't see it) to try and complete it.

Which team do you support? (if there is a mistake in the list please correct me)

Good half for the Lakers, strong second quarter to lead by 9 at the break.

Need to keep the intensity going, this could be a big win considering our 2 best defenders are out. Kobe needs to be more efficient (only 30% in that half).

This will be a very big win indeed.

We know Kobe is going to pick up his shooting percentage in the second half, so it looks good for the Lakers at the moment.. The only dangerous thing for the Lakers now is if the Nets can find their range from beyond the arc. They have dangerous shooters and if they get in rhythm the Lakers could be in trouble, because the Nets had many open 3 pointers in the first half, they just missed them.

Big win for the Lakers. Showed a lot of determination in the 4th quarter, even if it was another game where we let a double digit lead slip away.

One concern will be that Gasol got injured in the 4th and never returned. Hopefully it's nothing serious, we've had no luck at all with injuries this year.

Btw, Kobe's dunk in the 4th :eek::drool:

Don't have a favorite team, Danny. The NBA sucks.

I follow Durant as he is the best player I have seen come out of college in my time following college basketball. Wouldn't call myself an OKC fan though.

Unconfirmed reports that Gasol is out for 6 weeks. He's not had his best season but this will be a huge, huge, huge loss. fecks sake :(

Lakers cant trade Gasol anymore. Should have done it when they had the chance.

Agree with this but I can understand why they didn't do it. It would've been a big risk with Howard not really committing beyond this season.

Howard will have to play through the pain (as Kobe has told him to do), we can't have Robert fecking Sacre as our starter.

you cant win games with Howard and Sacre ..why trade Gasol , just get a coach who can work with the two best big man in the game,(the big 2 game)
also if Howard does not get and stay healthy its over for this season , then he can feck off in a big drama again

oh yes i'm a laker

Because Gasol has been shit for the past two seasons and aint getting better since he is getting older and has injury problems now. He is on such a high salary which he doesnt deserve. He is also a pussy. He doesn't use his height to crash the boards enough or even aggressively. If we trade him, we can clear up some salary space and either bring in someone younger for the future or at least improve the depth of the squad. Do you want any more reasons?

But its not like we are going to trade Gasol for nothing or even Howard for that matter. We are always going to get a replacement and it was going to be a big for a big.

Oh I think he is going to leave either way, which is why I suggested earlier that we trade both our bigs and get a deeper roster.

And just get a coach who can work with him? You can't just sack two coaches in the span of 40 games.

yeah its to late now , but this team does not suit Deantony style

31 points
5 rebounds
8 assists
4 steals
2 blocks

Not bad, Dwyane.

Houston lost, Lakers are getting closer...

EDIT: And now Portland lost as well..

He is managing himself pretty well. I think he will be at his best come playoff time.

He needs a big man who can shoot really well. Someone like Ryan Anderson or Kevin Love might have benefitted us more.

Gasol is a pretty good shooter, unless you want him to take threes.

By the way, the list is pretty much complete now.. We definitely have too many Laker fans.. Still good diversity though..

Agree with this. He's played much better when he's in the post or shooting short/mid-range jumpers.

Expecting him to hit 3 pointers or play from the perimeter and make shots is stupid and it's one of the worst decisions D'Antoni's made.

Howard's latest comments are interesting.

Looks like he's given up on the season, even though we've been good recently and are getting closer to the #8 seed. Really can't seem him staying in LA beyond this year.

Gasol is loosing his shooting touch. Anderson and Love are way better. And yes he needs a big man who can also shoot threes.

You can't call Anderson a "big man", and Love didn't exactly have a better year than Gasol. Obviously they are both younger, and have more potential for the future, but if we're talking about this year, Gasol hasn't been that bad, especially when he was used properly, as a big man.

In the last 11 games (in which he was used in a much better way than when D'Antoni started) Gasol took 130 shots and hit 69 of them (53%). That's not bad. Being able to hit threes is certainly a plus, but it's not what you need from your big man, and in fact it may be a downside sometimes, because if your big is shooting threes, then who is gonna tip in the rebound??

Anderson might be able to hit more threes than Gasol, but his inside game is nowhere near Gasol's, and when you have Bryant, Nash, MWP, ... in your team, I don't think you need to worry about your outside game..

I think D'Antoni has finally found his formula. Bryant passes the ball and Gasol dominates the inside game (with/without Howard), however, he's lost a lot of time, and it's not easy now to make up for it with these injuries mounting up..

At least he's starting today.. If he stays healthy, the Lakers should still have a good chance of making it.

Boston have done really well since losing Rondo and Sullinger.

-Miami(fair enough, good win)
-Kings(5-21 on the road, so very predictable)
-Magic(2-21 in their last 23 games)
-Clippers(minus Chris Paul they are an average team, lost last 7 of 9, including one to the Wizards)
-Lakers(no Pau, Howard looking a shadow of himself and a Lakers team with losing record)

Yes, the Celtics have done well....but not that well.

Howard can feck right off, Lakers would be better off trading for bench players than keeping that pansy on the team. A shadow of himself on his offensive game and massively overrated with his defense.

Looks like Bosh has shared his flu with Wade and Allen, and they are all likely now to miss their clash with the Clippers, who ironically welcome Paul and Griffen back from injury..

:(

You are kidding me right? Lets have a look at his stats shall we?

2010-2011 season: 18.8 points, 10.2 rebs, 1.6 blocks, 52.9% FG% and 82.3% FT%

2012-2013 season: 13.4 points, 8.0 rebs, 1.3 blocks, 45.3% FG5 and 70.6% FT%

He is averaging career low in points, FG%, blocks, rebounds (offensive and defensive rebs in general are worst as well), 2nd worst FT% of his career.

Of course his stats will have to be affected considering the changes they've gone through, with the addition of Howard and the coach changes. But when he settled a bit, and when he was used properly by D'Antoni, in the last 11 games he has hit 53% of his shots averaging more than 16 points per game.. That's not bad IMO and it should a sufficient contribution from Gasol for the Lakers.

Notice here that you can't expect Gasol to have the same numbers now with Howard in the team.

Ibaka really is a block machine isn't he? he had 6 last time out against the Warriors. He scored a 3 in that game too!

Howard is out through injury or sitting on the bench due to foul trouble half the time. Gasol should be scoring more points regardless with Nash to facilitate. You were talking about tip ins earlier. Gasol is averaging only 2 offensive rebs (which is also a career low) a game. It doesn't really help he is 7 feet tall because half the time he doesnt use his height to his advantage.
