Gilbert Arenas is a RedCafe poster.

Protecting the star?

There is a sentiment among people close to the Wizards organization -- few of whom spoke on the record, given the sensitive nature of the situation -- that the team's upper management, team President Ernie Grunfeld in particular, covered for Arenas and coddled him for too long. "There are a lot of people responsible for this, other than" Arenas, one person familiar with the situation said on condition of anonymity because the individual could not speak on behalf on the Wizards organization.

Former Wizards coach Eddie Jordan and his staff privately intimated they felt undermined by Grunfeld when it came to matters of discipline with Arenas. Arenas, a notorious practical joker, often crossed the line of acceptable decorum. The example often cited was how Arenas once defecated in teammate Andray Blatche's shoe during Blatche's rookie season. His behavior often went unchecked and unpunished, said a former team employee on condition of anonymity.

PHX just lost a game they were up 4 in with 10 seconds to go and had just rebounded the ball hahaha

Arenas plead guilty today

The all-star teams look mostly right besides the obvious exceptions.

There should be "games played" limits to get in regardless of votes.

I say give the fans what they want but limit the voting to inside the arena.

Though the idea is good, all that does is gets star players 20K votes a night regardless of how good they're doing... On average, team attendances are only 14% Season ticket holders leaguewide.

Basically what i'm saying is, all 5 Celtics players would be starters for example.

Not necessarily, I always vote for who I want to see, if you are going to count all of them, count the arena ones x3 or something

The Nuggets have been great this year when they have had both Melo and Billups healthy hopefully both of them are in the playoffs, they will give the Lakers a run for their money again. I think that they could probably take any other team in a 7 game series as well.

It's an 'All star' weekend and not the 'Best Player' weekend.

You're not one of those "If the fans vote them in, let them play" people are you?

Tracy McGrady and allen Iverson back court = okay to you? Seriously?

The best and most talented players should play based on their performances for that season... That is why it's the 2009/10 All star game, not the 2001/02 all-star game.

Not if they run into the Mavs i think.

Big trade involving the Mavs and Wizards. Butler and Haywood for Josh Howard and Gooden.
Gives the Mavs a half decent center. Still cant see them beating LA though. By the way this years dunk contest was horrible.

Apparently Amare is going to go to Miami, they still probably make it out of the East but that will make them a very very good team.

Miami? the latest i'm getting is Cleveland still, and on top of that the Cavs enquited about getting Troy Murphy.

All or bust by the looks of things for the Cavs. this coudl backfire.

AS...what do you think of the trade dallas and wiz pulled off? just what the doctor ordered as far as the mavs i think. they were in a no win situation.

Massive trade for the Mavs but they still won't topple the Lakers nor would I pick them over Denver.

If the Cavs get Stoudemire there can be no excuses for not winning the title this year.

The question still is will they, for long periods of time last year I thought they would win it, and then they ended up nearly getting swept by the Magic.

Jesus fecking Christ

3 fouls in the last 20 seconds of a tied game....................errrrrrrrr give me a fecking break

LeBron looks pissed DWade won the MVP,....jealous much....

Change of scenery might give the Mavs a boost, but nothing more, they need to have a run at Troy Murphy.

WTF is your obsession with Troy Murphy? I have it on good authority that he smells bad and he's not a player who helps your team win.

NBA All-Star game was so boring I switched to figure skating. The only good part was Shakira and Alicia Keys. "Welcome to All Star, concrete jungle where dreams are made of."

He's the highest ranked trade bait not named Amare ;)

No obsession, but he'd add a nice element to any of the teams contending for a title... Where did this obsession come from, I named him twice in this thread?

I dont see why that trade is going to be so good for Dallas, they still have just about no chance making it out of the west

more scoring (takes some pressure off of dirk and terry), more beef (better able to bang inside). lakers are tough but you never know. teams get hot. remember the heat a few years ago.

I'm off to the Blazers Clippers game tonight. Been to a few games this season already, I'm not entirely sure why

Breaking from Sacramento and ESPN and Yahoo.

Kings get:

Carl Landry
Tracy McGrady
Joey Dorsey

Rockets get:

Kevin Martin
Kenny Thomas
Hilton Armstrong
Sergio Rodriguez

The deal isn't quite official yet because they're waiting to see whether they can send McGrady to New York in a three-way deal, but if not, this will be the deal.

Haha, just busting your balls, man.

Rockets win out in their deal on a pure talent basis, but NY is clearing out space for the Lebron + Lebron's Pippen (Bosh or Wade) sweepstakes.
