Nba 2007-2008

Howard was very good in the dunk competition, the other 3 not so creative except for Green blowing out the candle.

Kidd to Dallas has been approved. Van Horn accepted a $4m salary for about two months work (that would be very nice). Stackhouse stays with Dallas. The rules look ridiculous when a team can trade a player that's not on the roster and has retired to another team strictly for cap purposes.

Rumors on the radio have Lakers inquiring about Caron Butler, probably offloading Odom as part of a trade.

Nuggets take down the Celtics, West >>>>>>>>>>> East

LA Lakers at the Phoenix Suns, 6 mins in:

LAL 16
PHX 17

32-29 LakeShow leading at the end of one, Kobe and Nash both 5/5 from the field atm

Halftime

Lakers - 65
Suns - 57

Lakers will tie the Suns in the Pacific Division with a win

105-103 Lakers with 8 mins left, very good game thus far, looks like Kobe is gonna get 40 for the 90th!!!!!!! time in his career. Haha Daryl Strawberry's son just took a charge v. Kobe, and as I write Amare has tied it on a dunk plus one

Just turned it on. Looks like the Lakers are shitting them down now

It's been pretty back and forth with the Lakers a slight upperhand throughout, the Gasol trade was excellent for LA(they gave up nothing), that said if the Big Aristotle wants to win he is still a fecking force down low

Sweet Jesus Raja Bell just got rocked by an Shaq elbow on accident

I do as well, I love Shaq and would love to see them do well in the playoffs, if he wins a title again I cant wait for some more classic sound bites from him

This game has been awesome reminds me of what the NBA used to be!

Kobe at 41 atm, 90th time in his careers trails only MJ and Chamberlain

I haven't watched a game that was this offensive in a long time

These two along with the Nuggets love to go play offense, the West should just hold there own playoffs this year for the title, they have that many good teams, that said the Celts and Pistons are very good as well, that said no one else in the East is even decent(The Cavs could be if they get Andre Miller)

Lakers win and tie the Suns in the Pacific, also take the tie breaker as well since they won the season series 3-1, Kobe Bryant has been the best player in the NBA for the past 5 years imo

the lakers look awesome

what do you think will happen when bynum returns?

you think bynum will be the centre and gasol would take radmanovic's place (though i don't think gasol is as good a perimeter shooter as radmanovic)

yes, currently watching the celts-suns game, will give updates Nash has been great so far 11-4 Suns lead 5 mins in

Holy Shit Shaq and Amare just had an awesome fast break play

21-10 Suns 2:32 left in the first, the NBA is great this year

It;s great it seems that the NBA has a lot of great teams and a lot of shitty teams, there is no middle ground now and it is really shaping up for some interesting games I am very excited for this seasons playoffs

Do you ever go to Nuggets games Alex?

Yeah from time to time, for sure have Avs season tixs, but not after this year as they suck and I am probably gonna be to busy to enjoy many games on weekend nights. Been to probably 4 or 5 Nuggets games this year, U? Pissed they didnt get Artest tbh, they would have been a team of ballers that I reckon could have done well

3 or 4 last year and 2 this year. Been to only 2 Avs games, got tickets free both times from a doctor friend-those are fecking expensive. We usually do 4 or 5 Rockies games. Never been to a Broncos game, and have season tix at Rapids

Those are the ones to go to, shame they tore down the Old Mile High, but Invesco is very nice, that said the tickets to Bronco games are expensive

Nooooooooo

Yao out for rest of the season, that's it for my flying rockets

it was awesome but it wasnt a dunk
and technically he shouldnt have won it on that basis

The only requirement for a dunk is that you throw the ball in from above the rim, you don't have to touch or grab the rim. So it should be counted as a dunk in my opinion.

"A slam dunk(or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands over the rim"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slam_dunk

your opinion is wrong. Even the guys on ESPN sportscenter were debating this.

It does say over the rim, but it doesn't say that you have to grab the rim with one or two hands.

From Merriam Webster(the reference in that wiki article):
Dunk Shot: : a shot in basketball made by jumping high into the air and throwing the ball down through the basket

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dunk%20shot

In the old days when the term "dunk" emerged it was during those days when players didn't put much force in their dunks and they didn't grab the rims alot.

I understand that everybody associates a dunk with that someone powers the ball through the rim hard since that's how they all look these days.

We live in the present (i.e these days)
That competition was held in 08 (i.e these days)
hence it wasn't a dunk in these days :D
