As much as I'd like this to happen, I can't see it. All of these stories are mainly built from shit, lies, 'sources, and the odd quote which doesn't completely rule it out. An 'ITK' tweets something, then others think they can get in on it by tweeting it as well improving their own status and it perpetuates itself from there. There have been two or three real things which suggest it's not impossible but that's it.

When are we thinking he will sign his bumper contract with Arsenal then? Sometime this week I reckon.

Samir Nasri's agent claims the Arsenal midfielder is set to hold further contract talks with Arsene Wenger in a bid to resolve his future.

The Frenchman, who is out of contract with the Gunners next July, has been heavily linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arsenal boss Wenger has made it clear he wants to keep Nasri in North London and has no intention of selling him to fierce rivals Manchester United, who are thought to be chasing his signature.

Reports suggest the France international has shunned contract talks with the Gunners until he is satisfied their transfer targets are of the required standard to mount a title bid next term.

However, Nasri's representative Alain Migliaccio claims negotiations are ongoing and expects the player to meet with Wenger in the near future.

"There are a few clubs interested in Samir, but it is useless to name them. Before listening to other teams, we need and we want to talk with Arsenal. "

He told calciomercatoweb: "I want to clarify that there has been no break with the Gunners over the contract's renewal and we should meet again soon with Arsene Wenger."

Migliaccio also moved to play down speculation linking Nasri with a move away from the Emirates, with Inter Milan the latest club thought to be interested.

He added: "There are a few clubs interested in Samir, but it is useless to name them.

"Before listening to other teams, we need and we want to talk with Arsenal."

I would say the Arse has one more chance to sort this and I would suggest that United have not made the "concrete" approach that Nasri spoke of.

I don't think Nasri will stay to be honest, I think he's fed up of not being succesful with Arsenal and most of the players have probably ruled themselves out of top two next season already.

And Rio said no snood wearers will play for United.

Uh-Oh...

According to reports Arsenal ace Samir Nasri is ready to see out the final year of his contract.

The Independent claims Nasri has held talks with Manchester United but could not reach an agreement.

Consequently, the player now appears likely to remain at Arsenal for another season, running down the final year of his current £55,000-a-week contract.

Next summer the Frenchman will be a free agent and have the pick of his next club should he not a agree a new deal with the Gunners.

Arsenal will be hoping the next campaign will prove more successful than the last which may persuade the 23-year-old to stay at the Emirates.

How can we have held talks if we've not had permission from Arsenal? I know there have been some stories about intermediaries but, as far as not being able to reach an agreement, I'd think they'd have to have had some serious talks and not just some cursory discussions through middlemen to see if a bid should be placed if Nasri was agreeable to the move.

Nasri won't join United, it's all boring, predictable pre-season summer guff because the red tops haven't got anything else news worthy.

^ Has Bendtner had talks with any other club? If I were him, I'd be a little worried that the Madrid's, Barca's and Milan's of this world has not started the bidding war his unrivalled talent deserves!

(in his head of course).

Samir Nasri has urged Arsenal's fans not to believe all the rumours surrounding his future.

The France international has been linked with a summer switch away from Emirates Stadium.

He has yet to put pen-to-paper on a new contract, with his current terms to expire next year.

The likes of Manchester United have been mentioned as an interested party, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted the schemer will not be leaving the club.

Nasri said: "There is not much to say apart from don't listen to all the rumours and everything that is written or said.

"Earlier in the season I spoke with the boss and we said we would talk during the summer, which is what we are going to do."

Nasri went on to highlight his aim of becoming more consistent, conceding that his form faded during last season.

Speaking to the July edition of the official Arsenal magazine, he said: "As a player, it is hard to stay at the top of your game.

"I don't want last season to be just a one-off. I want to continue playing at my best and be consistent at the level I was at the start of last season.

"This is the difference between a good player and a great player - and I know the expectations will be higher on me too."

nah, he won't get a hundred grand, because that's not how Arsene operates

He'll probably stay at Arsenal, though

Depends how much of a mercenary he is, I can see us willing to match his wage demands so its not entirely impossible he might shun Arsenal for a slight pay rise with us.

But yeah I agree, he'll most likely stay.

He'll most probably stay at Arsenal. Alternatively he'll move abroad but he won't come to United. Arsenal aren't that thick.
