I would be tempted to modify the formation slightly into something more like this:
GK
CB CB CB
WB CM CM WB
FW FW FW
We need to change the way we attack, so I'd like to see us move to a system where we have three pacey forwards that are aiming to get behind the opposition's defensive lines. More support for Hojlund, but the trade-off is that he will have to learn how to improve his movement, since we would need players dropping into the hole to occupy spaces, linking up play, etc. An inter-changeable, fluid, attacking trio up top.
To do this, we really need 4 players. Two wingbacks that are intelligent in the attacking aspect of the game, but can also help the midfield by tucking in at times. This means that one of our centre mids along with our wingback can then double up on players, helping both the closing down aspect and breaking through the lines.
Alongside the two wingbacks, we need 2 attackers. One of these could be a more traditional number 9, who could act as the focal point in the middle. Ideally, we want players who are mobile and can play anywhere across that front three to give opponents something to think about. We're too predictable, and we need to improve our unpredictability. 3 forwards plus two wingbacks mean that we can be much more attacking. The trade-off for this is that we need the 3 CBs and 2 CMs to really be on top of locking down those defensive and middle thirds. Mobility is really important for us going forward.
So, my preference is:
Left wing back
Right wing back
Attacker
Attacker
After that, we really need to look at the midfield.
