Mykhaylo Mudryk | Reported - Failed doping test

Top quote is from one of the worst football fans I've ever witnessed on the forum, so it doesn't really count.
Aww thanks! I aim to please.

Yeah… really nailed that one. As I remember, I was definitely the only person excited after his debut.

What makes it more painful for me is I think it’s Chelsea’s fault. I don’t know what’s going on there, but right now we are taking very good talents and grinding them into feces.

Mudryk has gone from being specifically known for his first touch to not being able to control a 5 yard pass. He looks like he doesn’t trust anything he’s doing when he’s out there.

Really shitty thing to do by Mudryk.

Joey has rightly annihilated him here.

Yeah … but Swoll, after a life of being a less than good guy that conned people on social media for a living, now makes money going viral as a “Gym etiquette guy influencer” that “catches” professional athletes.

That female swimmer he blasted for making a video of a kid she knows, described him really accurately by saying : “People want to hate, and they just need to be guided where to spread their hate”.

So … a little context. Funny gym TikTok’s aren’t exactly a mortal sin; you can find hours and hours of them. It IS how Joey makes money.

And nothing is funnier than piling on a very young athlete trying to find something to laugh about while he gets blasted with everything from ridicule to death threats on a daily basis while also dealing with people he may know dying every day in the meat grinder that used to be his country.

Go Joey Go!

Classic whataboutism.

Wise up.

Wise up.
No, he intentionally doesn’t look into the context of why/how videos are posted, because he doesn’t care. He leads with a narrative that gives him clicks, because that’s all he cares about

That’s not whataboutism. It’s just a clear view of what Joey is. You, Joey, nobody else knows how he story behind why he posted that video … because Joey doesn’t care about context.

If Joey cared about context he might know that people on the Chelsea team have been posting funny videos related to workouts for awhile now. I think it started with Silva jokingly making fun of him being “fat”

In the case of the female swimmer Joey apparently posted a diatribe about how she was making fun of a mentally handicapped kid trying to swim. But it was a normal kid that belonged to a friend of hers acting silly. He doesn’t care. He even enjoyed the backlash, because …. Clicks.

Not falling for a con man that Preys upon confirmation bias to make his living DOES seem like the wise move.

No idea why you’re making excuses for him over this if I’m honest.

Mudryk did a shitty, childish thing and was called out on it. He should know better.

That’s all It is.

Well that escalated quickly..

He posted a shitty video, and was called out for it.

Well, 1, because “gym fails” are like the third most common tik Tok on the platform. It’s weird to be called out for it. Have you never seen the one where the woman tries to hold on to the treadmill? My pastor showed me that one.

2, Joey Swoll is a predator who does these moral high ground rants at people for clicks and attention.

If you had posted the video and complained I might have just suggested improving your sense of humor. But Swoll has hurt real people, including children, with his fake moral gym outrage cottage industry. So, it’s more about not liking him than caring about Mudryks socials.

Mudryk himself probably hasnt made it through the “Your a complete failure and the worst purchase ever” messages to even see swoll’s latest marketing venture… errr… I mean Gym Etiquette Justice Message.

Why does the Caf love to talk about this player?

Because Chelsea paid a pile of money for him and he's about as good as James McClean.

Who funnily enough also joined PL team from a shite league, but he at least had a decent first season before dropping back down to his level and spending most of his career in the Championship.

It happened in May and was talked about in this very thread back then.

No idea why it's been brought up again. Better than talking about Sancho I guess.

I guess.

I think maybe somebody else needs to do something or it could be a long international break.

Might just need someone to kick a cat or put a small dog in a microwave or eat a live goldfish. Just something interesting, anything at all.

I don’t care for Joey Swole so what you say doesn’t bother me.

Mudryk is still a bit of a twat though.

I'd be impressed if he could find Sancho in a gym to make a video.

Arsenal totally dodged a bullet by not signing this guy. But somehow Chelsea took that bullet, named it Kai Havertz, and shot it right back at Arsenal

I mean he actually played really well. It was a good game from him yesterday. I was impressed.

Apparently Mudryk has only been on the field for two wins since joining Chelsea. They've won five more times in that period, but Mudryk was on the bench or unavailable for those.

I've not seen the game or the highlights, what did he do yesterday that was impressive?

He created a couple of chances. He was a constant threat down the right, and then he was the player sacrificed with Gusto got himself sent off. It was 0-0 at the time.

He made one key pass that should've been an assist visible from the highlights. Apart from that - 0 shots on goal, 3 crosses - neither of them successful, mostly passenger in defence in a game where the possession was mostly shared.

I mean he did have one or two flashes here and there but impressive?

He shouldn't been taken off as there were many Chelsea players that were worse than him on the pitch, but I guess the reason is his defensive effort..

The possession wasn't really even until the sending off. I haven't checked the stats, but it certainly did not feel even. I think we dominated the ball until that point and then they dominated the ball for like 15 mins after the red card, in which they scored and then they dropped back ceding the ball to us for the remainder of the game.

If Enzo managed to pick the right man out, it could have been a huge chance created by Mudryk's excellent pass, that wouldn't get registered as an assist if it resulted in a goal. There was another 'incomplete' cross where he skinned his man and Jackson just didn't gamble, he hung back instead expecting the cut back but Mudryk did everything right and fizzed it across the goal. That sort of thing usually gets ironed out the more they play together.

This is his first back to back start since February I think, and there's already an improvement from the last game to this game despite the opposition being much tougher than the previous game.

You're probably right that it was the defensive effort or the lack of it that probably made him the sacrifice but he was the most promising attacker on the pitch for us.

Same with the Bournemouth game too.

He was decent in that game too. I've always said he needs a run of starts. I refuse to judge him until he gets that. If he gets say 15 starts in the next 20 games and he's still struggling to get any goals and assists, then ok maybe drop him to the bench again but then if he's playing really well without the stats to back it up then I'd be fine with starting him again and again.

It was something like 55-45 in the first half, 53-47 overall so generally even. I glanced at his heatmap and seems he rarely passed the half line off the ball.

Looking at the weight of that pass I think it was aimed at the far post. It didn't make sense as he had the time to square it or even pull back(I think it was Matty Cash in last ditch attempt where he threw himself) and square it. Jackson made couple of tiny steps and stopped his run 2-3 seconds before Mudryk attempted the pass. He simply blasted it across the goal line.

TBH Jackson movement in that situation was spot in. There was another Villa defender in front of him and of course the keeper could cut the pass. The miss when he was one on one with the keeper though.. pretty bad.

He's high risk attacking player. There are some games that those balls will land where it needs and some games where they won't. There's nothing in his overall game that suggests he raised his floor though as his movement is still about the same and the lack of effort off the ball is noticeable.

If he wants to succeed he has to work a lot harder both on and off the ball. Loan is probably the best thing that can happen to him as playing in another yet dysfunctional Chelsea side with no cohesion or general style of play doesn't help at all.

For example Jackson game is noticeably more refined in terms of both phases, positioning and off the ball movement. His finishing of course is atrocious and whether experience will help him in that matter is another question but he's generally positive in terms of value/what he offers in his general play.

It felt like we had more meaningful possession but fair enough if you've looked it up.

His off the ball movement still isn't there. His upside at the moment is almost entirely on the ball.

You say that as if it's a complete lottery whether those passes will land or not. His on the ball quality and his understanding with his teammates is what I think can improve the more he plays. I also think his off the ball movement and tactical understanding will improve too the more he's coached.

I think a loan may be good for him but I just don't want to say that he needs that until he gets a reasonable run of games until the end of the season. We're judging him solely based on the mess of the team last season where a lot of players had given up on the season and visibly downing tools with a completely clueless coach. This season he's barely played until the last two games, and I've seen a better Mudryk just on the back of two consecutive starts. I hear what you're saying, and I get that you think he's a low quality player but I want to see what he do with consistent game time and coaching.

Mudryk should have had at least 5 assists in the last 3 games but for awful finishing.

He left with a standing ovation last night which he clearly was happy with.

Mudryk is playing well the last few games. Don't know why are so quick to make an opinion about a player

I haven't made an opinion on him, other than him being a promising young player

but you called him the closest thing to Mbappe after a few preseason games mate

He just needs time to adapt to the league, his teammates and the new manager. He is obviously talented and still very young.

You did make an opinion about him, saying he looked clueless. Also, I said he has attributes similiar to mbappe, not saying he is the closest thing to mbappe. I saw those attribute again the last few games, he just needs to develop to be more predatory and clinical in and around the box.

There are one or two signs of improvement, you don't need to be a Chelsea fan to see that.

He was never hopeless. Just very raw, overpriced and overhyped (hardly his fault), and landed very poorly in a team whose massive transfer activity and general disruption made it difficult for him to recover from that landing. Spiralled for a while. Confidence is shot. Pochettino is a good manager to try and rebuild that with him, but these early glimmers are no guarantee of success. He's got a long way to go back to good, let alone great.
