Is Pogue having a mare again?
YesIs Pogue having a mare again?
Here's a pic of the second salute. They reacted as you imagine they would.I just don’t know what he was thinking, even in a room full of republicans, whipping out the nazi salute like that is one hell of a risk. Was there even a slight smattering of boos?
It’s quite possibly the most brazen display of racism, on such a mass scale that I can remember. You don’t just pull that out without being sure it’ll land. I don’t really pay attention to US politics, but I think I probably underestimated just how far gone the American right is if they're literally cheering fecking nazi salutes.
Christ. Here's a pic of the second salute. They reacted as you imagine they would.
Oh, so he's your saviour as well you fecking fascist piece of shit? Jokes don't ban me solius you fecking fascist piece of shitChrist.
No that's Elon Musk but if you think he's christ then that says a lot about youChrist.
Perhaps a little crucifixion would bring him into line?No that's Elon Musk but if you think he's christ then that says a lot about you

Well then you’ve misunderstood what I said. Maybe I could have worded it better? I’m not saying libertarianism is the extent of his politics. When I say “100%” I’m using it as a synonym for “definitely”. As in libertarianism is definitely part of Trump’s politics. I’m well aware there’s more to his policies than this.
Has anyone got any shots of the dem president’s reactions to it?Here's a pic of the second salute. They reacted as you imagine they would.
In 2016 you could be forgiven for believing this. Now though, you have to not be paying attention to all the things he and his cabinet/allies have said they want to do (anti-immigration, abortion limitation, anti-LGBTQ rights, tariffs and protectionist policies, even suggesting 'buying Greenland', demanding government workers report on DEI, outlawing pornography, etc). It's not small government libertarianism at all. its big government corporate conservatism with a mercantilist view of macro economics.
Look at that form; the angulation and the pride on his face. It's not his first rodeo. I wonder if this was Ket-inspired impromptu actioning or something he had in mind to do from the outset. Here's a pic of the second salute. They reacted as you imagine they would.

“Oh my god, he even did the chest thump”.
and the ultimate stamp of approval
Based on what? He’s never been more powerful than right now.I cannot wait for this downfall and I reckon it comes sooner than you think.

I think that's the point. He can't get much higher than he is now, so it's probably downhill from here. Not that I think he'll be jailed or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has reached peak influence.Based on what? He’s never been more powerful than right now.
Isn't this universally an economic negative for developed nations like the US? Except potentially in isolated situations e.g. national interest/defense or scarce resources? This switch from neoliberalism to neomercantilism is a rather big deal I believe
Most likely, yes. But Trump isn't one for thorough reflection. He views the world as a businessman: every opportunity he's not cashing in on is for someone else and leaves him poorer (or not richer, anyway). It's as simplistic as applying household economics to state finance, but here we are.Isn't this universally an economic negative for developed nations like the US? Maybe you're right, and I understimate his position. But I have a hard time believing that he's really working on anything on a technical level to the degree that he is actually indispensable. I think generally the merchant class/captains of industry types are safer and can wield more indirect influence when they stay out of the limelight. Musk might feel and seem invincible, but ultimately power doesn't really reside with. If he were a more stable and composed character, like Bezos, I'd be more sceptical about his downfall, but I really do think he has put himself in a dangerous position.I mean he's working on brain implants so...he's certainly planning on taking over the world. Of course he's also a dumb feck but pure naked greed, ambition, and narcissism can get you a long way in this world with the right (wrong?) luck.
Not in a million years will Trump want a small government as long as he himself is the head of it. He only wants a small government when it's led by the Democrats. Besides, Libertarianism is based on a strong belief in free will and everyones right to live their life as they want with minimal disruption from the state. For Trump, however, this only includes certain groups, while others are excluded from the same rights. Trump does more than anything have a winner-takes-all mentality, very much in line with the worldview of a fascist.
"i dun believ it"
He can’t escape it. Moron.
this reply sums up nicely where we're at
I think everyone is profoundly bored of me arguing my case here so I won’t bother.
The Elon dick suckers are as nauseating as he is
Yeah, I have to admit I've been really shocked by all this. Two friends accused me of being brain-washed for thinking it's a Nazi salute, and manipulated by the media.
I think it's reasonable to argue it might have been an awkward mistake or whatever, and not intended as it looked, but to argue, in absolute terms, that it definitely wasn't a Nazi salute is seriously strange to me. It's the most enthusiastic and excitable looking Nazi salute I've ever seen in my life, and then he did it again

Tell your friends: salute(s). See how they argue away him doing the same thing twice. You could probably also run the meme of his one side by side with the neo-Nazi one that is doing the rounds.Yeah, I have to admit I've been really shocked by all this. He could easily hire a couple of A Level students to do this in a few weeks.Cant he just rewrite the algorithm? Thought he was a Godlike programmer.
