Muppet Watch 2013 Edition

Do we reckon Moyes will be a big spender or will he go quietly to start with? It's pretty much acknowledged that we need a top class midfielder, wonder if Moyes has anyone in mind.

I said in another thread, I wonder if Moyes has known about this for a while, so already has targets in mind, plus who he wants to keep/sell, or if he'll have to start from scratch when he arrives?

Fergie said that we've been working on transfers, so are they Moyes' targets? Or is Fergie going to still have a say this summer?

I think he'll take a lot of advice off our scouts and Fergie. We probably won't make any real 'Moyes signings' until January. Similar to how he has apparently given Everton a list of targets for the summer, I'm sure Fergie and our scouts will do the same. Fergie has basically said as much himself.

I have a question, say we hav a budget of, say, 60 Million.....given the choice what would you prefer:

Bale/Ronaldo (50m) & Cabaye ( or other realistic cheapish midfielder)

OR

Di Maria/Sanchez/Rodriguez & Gundogan (or other 25-35m midfielder)

Well?

There's a Star Man.

Underneath a tree.

He'd like to buy Rodriguez, Gundogan and di mari a.

If we've been working on signings then I'm sure we will continue to pursue them and if we get them then Moyes will work with them. But from then onwards, he must have complete control of all transfer activity. I'm sure he knows we don't need major surgery.

Porto vs Benfica tonight, meaning James Rodriguez, Gaitan, Matic, Moutinho, Garay and Mangala are all in action.

So how likely do we think It is that Moyes will be either offered the funds or accept the opportunity to make his mark in the team with a marquee signing or two?

I wouldn't really have thought it to have even the "United way" to make a point with big signings but similarly I didn't expect him to make the backroom changes that he did.

Very difficult to answer as SAF has expressed his happiness with the state he is handing over the team. However our normal transfer budget is 40-50 millions and that is enough for 2 marquee signings as we are not really in need of any squad-purchases.

Our transfer-record is 60~ in one season and it is possible that we will reach that but very unlikely that we surpass it.
