Moyes So Far!

No, it just never means that much. How much rubbish did SAF use to spout in public? Some short memories..

Mate, lets not start comparing him and his comments to SAF. You could see SAF on the touchlines with his gestures and general demeanor. He'd lash out at officials or even have a go at players who were being shite. Moyes is almost always blank and dour on the sidelines. Deflecting attention away from the team after a poor performance is one thing, saying the same old we played well, need luck shit after every game is another.

It could be worse.

He just isn't positive enough. He was just asked if this is one of the strongest line-ups he's been able to pick and instead of saying yes he immediately goes on about the injuries we have still, getting his excuses in early.

Yeah, that was weird.

Dec 2015 if things continue the way they are imo. It wont be in SAFs hand even if he wants him to stay after that. The summer's very very important though. We're sure to spend a lot so we have to hope that Moyes targets the right standard of players. I think he will though so am calm in that sense.

That was where i was before this window. I would be far happier and accepting of our curent plight, if i thought these were mere teething problems while we implement a new and progressive ideology. but i haven't seeen any evidence of that and far more of Moyes attempting to become a SAF puppet. Any group is only as good as their leader, it doesn't matter who he buys if he cannot get them to buy into what he is trying to do, atm he seems unaware of what to do, and £100m won't change that im afraid.

Absolutely. As someone on the forum put it, he's just been a very diluted Sir Alex so far and its never going to be good enough if he doesnt change. For all the talk of purchases in the summer, it'l only work if we change the way we play.

He will be given money to buy whatever players he wants....then the owners will expect him to deliver...and I don't mean just a 4th place.

....he will be gone otherwise...and we will welcome Jose ;)

I don't think Moyes particularly rates Young or Valencia, I just think that he doesn't want to lose 'width'. That's why we're unlikely to see both Mata and Kagawa play together, atleast in the league.

What I wonder is, is this simply his football philosophy - I mean, width was massively important at Everton but he did have players who liked to come inside in the later years (Mirallas and Pienaar most noticeably). Do we think that he also believes that this is the 'United way'. Emphasis was always placed upon wingers under Ferguson - is that part of his thinking too?

And he said he's picked a team that can hopefully try to win this game. Confidence-inspiring he is not.

Young isn't really a typical United winger though, he prefers to move centrally off the wing then keep the width and get to the byeline.

You're all going a bit overboard on the 'unlucky' comments here lads.

"If you work hard enough, things will start breaking your way." Perhaps this worked for him as a limited footballer in the lower leagues, but it's not a reasonable philosophy for a good manager.

That's a fair point. He's only not 'typical' because he's played on the left, but I get your point. He still offers the width though, he receives the ball on the wing and mostly he uses it by crossing or playing Evra on the overlap.

He managed one of the bigger clubs in the country for a decade too, you know.

Sack him, please sack him and let us have a shred of a chance to salvage something, anything! I can't take many more of these weekends.

He's a typical David Moyes winger though because he's as predictable as Valencia is.

Their goal was lovely. Looking at our midfield now, nobody is doing similar kinds of runs like Sidwell.

Literally all we do is cross... badly... at home... whilst losing to Fulham.... Fulham...

This is just diabolical. How can his position be tenable with the utter shite he is making us play?

Now that top 4 is gone, theres no pressure for him to achieve anything - hence expect another season out of him. Even with Klopp we'd fail to make up the points tally required...

It was merely a point that goes against your daft little dig at him there.

It doesn't really. He's managed to do "all right" for years at a club with zero expectations of success. He managed a "good" year by getting into the Champions League qualifying. That is his only achievement. He would be fine there, but Manchester United have expectations of success. Something Moyes has never had.

At least Moyes might break the Premier League record for most crosses in a match today. It is something I guess, small victories and all that.

There's only been two attacks through the middle in this entire game

And Fulham only scored one of them.
