Moyes' first signing?

I think it matters how you are approached. Ramsey was a very sought after player. How come he chose Arsenal? One thing he mentioned is how they showed how much they wanted him to join them. Wenger spoke to him at great length. Showed him the club and the facilities.
What did United do? Gary Neville gave him a tour of Old Trafford. SAF wasn't very much involved personally. If he were, that could have been a difference because you know that when he's personally seeing a player, that player is most likely joining us.

That certainly matters and if the whole Neville story is true then maybe Fergie didn't see him as that great of a prospect that he'd put off something else he was doing to meet him, I am sure Moyes will do all of that stuff well enough, I'm not concerned about his ability to sell an English talent on United, he's no fool IMO. I just think that the type of signings that Nani, Hernandez, RvP etc... were, will be much harder for him for the first couple of years.

I agree. He left Everton on good terms; he won't want to sour relations by stealing their players. Especially now the world's his oyster.

Fellaini and Baines are likely to want to move on if any bigger clubs come in - especially now Moyes has left. Why let them go elsewhere if he wants them and they're likely to be leaving anyway?

Everton will need to offload at least one big name player if they want to give their new gaffer any money to spend.

Lot of talk around the betting circles in the City tonight that we will make a huge signing before the end of the month. Aleady done, and waiting for the right moment to announce it.

Cavani will be going there I reckon.

moutino, bale and baines would be good business.

We're more than stocked in every position, midfield aside. Two midfielders and I'm a very happy boy. Come on David!

If it's Osman I think I'll die with laughter.

I do harbour hopes it's someone really uninspiring though. Like an £18m bid for Tom Huddlestone or someone like that.

Uninspiring? Sounds like a Wenger thing :p

;)

Fellaini would be a really average signing. I saw him at the Emirates a few weeks back and I was really looking to see if there was something in the flesh that was better than the TV. There wasn't. Just a brute with average technical ability.

Tom Huddlestone isn't as uninspiring as the rest of our midfield.

Papers are linking us with Fellaini and Baines. It's really embarrassing how predictable these tabloids and journos are.

Sometimes you need a brute with fairly average technical ability. He undoubtedly holds on to the ball well and can move it on comfortably too, if he sat at the base of midfield he could work very well.

-------Kagawa-------
Carrick-------Felliani--

Provides a very solid base for Kagawa to work with and though it is not cool to actually recognize sheer size and power these days as good things, it makes up for some of the lackings in his technical skills.

You're right, basic things like size and power are constantly overlooked, when they're actually useful.

I just don't think he'll take you onto the next level. If you want to consolidate for a year or two, yes, a decent signing under the circumstances, but I don't see him as a game changer.

Felliani is much better then people are maing out

Me neither in terms of a game changer but in terms of actual midfielders we currently have, Carrick, Cleverly and Anderson.....fecking bringing Gibson back would be better than nothing!

I'd take Strootman as well, maybe a bid for Dembele if Chmapions League football could tempt him. Those two in addition to Zaha coming in and I'd be chuffed.

Hope he brings Barkley with him.

I think I'm more worried about who stays more than who comes in. Really hope we don't lose Rio, Rooney and Nani over the summer.

I expect Rio to stay and Rooney to leave. Dunno about Nani. With Fergie I felt he should probably be moved on. However, with a new manager he'd be daft to leave.

If we qualify for the CL, it'll be because of Tom Huddlestone's awful free kicks last night.

I couldn't believe that AVB continued to let him take set-pieces after the first few catastrophes. Even his hair was better than those free-kicks...

Jesus, I wish people would stop mentioning Everton players. None of them, not a single one, is even remotely close to being United quality. They are all at their level.

Matter of opinion. I think one or two may be worth it. I also think one or two in our squad wouldn't look out of place playing for the 6th best team in the league as opposed to the first either, so it's not straight forward to determine.

This should be our team next year

They're not though. Baines and Fellaini could easily play in teams performing better than 6th-10th in the league and Barkley is very promising.

Aside from those 3, I agree.

No point replacing Evra with Baines Carl considering Baines himself turns 29 before the years out. We already have Evra/Buttner and Fabio.

Fellaini is the only one who could strengthen our first team, but whether he's the right player is another matter. I'm not convinced. As for Barkley, he's young, promising but would cost a lot of money and hasn't featured much in the Everton first team. Too early to bring him here.

We could swap Mirallas for Ashley Young and come off better for it.

I know, I've said that in this very thread. Just explaining that he could easily play at a club a couple levels up from Everton which is contrary to what that lad was suggesting.

I'm not a big Young fan but I don't think Mirallas would be much of an upgrade, if any at all.

Evra is a the one player in particular who would act the bollocks with Moyes, signing Baines would be a major feck up. It could cost Moyes the dressing room! :nervous::lol:

Any (slim) hope we did have of signing Bale has vanished now IMO. Certainly this Summer anyway.

Oh agreed then, he has the ability to play in a top 4 team for sure.
