Moutinho

Rumblings in different papers saying he could well be a target for us along with the thousand other supposed midfielders. Does anyone think we could realistically get him? Moyes seemed keen on bringing him to Everton in previous years, and he is only 27 even though it seems like he's been around for ages. Would he be as good a fit as other targets too?

He's just another midfielder who moved last summer and another one we've been linked with and seemingly rejected in the past.

I can't believe he really wanted to move to Monaco, but there he is. Unless something's happening there as a result of the new (tax etc) regulations the French league is bringing in, combined with FFP then he's not moving.

However, Monaco (unlike PSG say) never seemed like a viable sugar daddy club, so maybe something is happening there. I'm sure Mendes will let us know.

I don't believe Monaco is sustainable as a sugar daddy club either, have you seen their attendance? I think the likes of Falcao, Moutinho and James are there for a very short run. The later seemed to drop his progression a bit in his later stages at Porto (I haven't seen a single Monaco game) but the first two are definitely too good for them. It's just a more inflated version of Malaga, nothing like PSG.

I'd love for Moutinho to go to a better club, where I would actually be interested in following his performances. He's a world class player, arguably among the best 10 midfielders in the world.
