Don't get me wrong, I worded my post very badly. I really don't know what happens, and as @andy0 pointed out it looks as if sometimes players can be convinced to drop their contracts. I think this boils down to individual contracts between players and clubs, and sponsors. Sometimes clubs own players image rights, sometimes they don't, etc.

My post was merely how I think things should be done, just like Ronaldo/Nike/Real/Adidas. Some of these people are very big names, and they may have long-term relationships with their own sponsors which they may not want to break for signing with a club for what might end up being a very short stint.

A small club from around here had a sponsorship with a local trucking company (or something of that sort) and every player and manager had to go to flash interviews wearing a terrible looking hat :lol:. Still remember some well dressed coaches like Costinha and their flashy suits with a cheap baseball cap on top of their head. I don't think that's right.

Conflict of interest: like SAF's son, who was a footballing agent, with whom we did business with?

I hadnt but I am now. Look at his blog posts. If you take the first letter of every sentence they spell out what can only be assumed to be garbled and incoherent messages to a foreign government.
