Mourinho | New old Chelsea manager

The last time we beat Fulham at home though was in 2010, its not been a dead cert for us in recent seasons.

I'm surprised by that TBH - since I can't remember the last time Fulham came to Old Trafford and did anything of note, I thought it would be the same at the Bridge. In fact, aren't they a side often noted as bad travellers? Maybe they raise their game in derbies more than I give them credit for?

Wasnt it in 2005, Papa Booba Diop with a late equalizer?

Also wasn't it the season before when they beat you 1-3 or 1-4 at OT?

2005 was at Craven Cottage.

They won 3-1 back in 2003, we signed Saha a few months later.

People can go on about Jose but to be honest compare his two teams, a big difference in quality for me. Us and city are far better for me!

(1st time around)

Cech
Gallas
Terry
Carvalaho
Cole
Makelele
Essian
Lampard
Duff
Robben
Drogba

Vs

(Now)
Cech
Ivanovic
Cole
Terry
Cahill
Obi
Ramirez
Oscar
Mata
Hazard
Eto

It doesn't really matter since it gives a good indication of the relative quality in the squads.

It's not 'fantastic' at all. He has a veiled dig at Wenger and then tries to justify what looks an irrational dislike of Mata. His 'old' wind-up persona was preferable to this self-regarding 'statesmanlike' shit.

He was always an insufferable bellend and now he's gotten worse, as he has no one like Fergie to rein him in, however slightly. He's a God-send for people who don't like football very much, as they can just talk about him and ignore the bothersome old football.

Edit - It wasn't a dig towards Wenger... Mourinho says: ''other people they deserve time''. And the part about Mata is too much lulz.

Of course it was. You don't even understand what he's pratting on about, the insufferably up-his-own-arse dildo.

I think Chelsea's poor start has been overstated a tad. Mourinho's had one shockingly bad result and that was against Basel, other than that it's probably been average or on par (losing away to Everton is nothing to be ashamed about).

He has made a cock up over the strikers situation but given there is no clear front runner in the league yet, can easily get away with it.

No, it wasn't. Read the bit in bold, but you can create false stories to make you feel happier if you want? Mourinho even explains the tactical reasons behind dropping Mata, but you're basing your opinion off false stories. Nice one.

Listen to it again with brain engaged - not cock out.

My first thought was that it was a bit of a dig at Wenger tbf.

I trust Mourinho to have the team's best interests at heart, rather than some absurd hate of all Spanish things. However of Mata, Hazard and Oscar, I think Oscar has the most potential. If Mourinho see's his best position as a no10 then It's nice to see him being played in his best position, even if it is at the expense of the currently better player.

Of course it was a dig at Wenger (particularly telling in the context of developing 'a new footballing philosophy' - Freud's having a giraffe).

Yep. Oscar is such an intelligent and disciplined player. There are no signs that Mata won't get into the team - all he has to do is adapt to Mourinho's philosophy, which is adding more defensive work to his game.

So he's happy that Arsenal, Tottenham don't have 20 points after 5 games? Fantastic !

Can he talk for 2 minutes without having a dig at someone or something? The first 3 minutes were incredibly annoying, full of the usual hypocrisy and arrogance. He can't talk about the team without belittling someone else and using it to make him look better. There was no need at all for the dig against Wenger and La Liga.

It's ridiculous with the wankers in the studio and on here having a tug to his old pony.

If you had any comprehension skills/bothered to read what I posted, you would have understood that I have no issue with playing Oscar at 10 (though he's equally good, arguably better in CM). What is unfathomable is dropping Mata for Hazard or Schurrle and then giving out a load of old bollox about him 'learning the role', when he's played most of his football at wide AM.

I read this hilarious post: https://www.redcafe.net/threads/jose-mata-has-to-adapt.377223/#post-14234482 Oscar is a better #10 than CM, but that's another debate. I, too, don't understand why Hazard hasn't been dropped, but what I've read from many is why Mata isn't first choice as a #10. Mourinho was excellent in that interview, emphasising the tactical importance of having Oscar over Mata behind Eto'o. IMO, he was dropped out of the squad so that he works harder and returns to the squad. It's a classic example of trying to get a player to work harder.

He was full of shit. Anyone who has any experience of managing 'scarce resources' in any industry would realise the stupidity of treating Mata as he has.

Lukaku looked beastly again today, eugh.

mhriaow!

It wasn't quite so bad when he was younger but there's no fool like an old fool.

I'm sure journos will be devoting pages upon pages on how awesome Mourinho's mindgames are, after his recent press conference walkout.
