MOTD 2016/17

I don't think Cesc pussied out of reacting. He knew exactly what he was doing. Wind up someone with a short fuse, and then just take it like a wounded puppy. Fernandinho has a habit of literally going for the throat. It's about time he was canned for it.

Nah it was top quality provocation and then playing the victim. He used his head there, he already had what he wanted. Reacting would have just got him in trouble.

Yeah no doubt

I really like Chapman, but I thought he seemed to have a problem with United, is he usually like that concerning them?

I like Chris Sutton. I've had a little bit to drink and he talks so slow, it helps me keep track.

He's my least favourite pundit :D

He's a utd fan, and it was quite evident he was getting a bit annoyed Jenas and Deeney weren't touching on the right things in regards to what's going wrong for us. He was trying to push them in the right direction bringing up valid points, but the pundits didn't give anything back because Jenas is a tool and Deeney is as thick as he looks..

I like what I've seen from Sutton on BT Sports Score and MOTD. You can tell he hasn't had much media training and his view will be dilated down in 6 months time, to the usual dribble from our English lot.

That makes sense, thought it seemed oddly personal to be coming from a neutral. I commend Deeney for doing his best but he's not very good in front of the camera.

Its interesting how Klopp is able to talk about refereeing decisions yet Mourinho can't...

...Almost like the FA treats different managers differently.

What did he say?

Phil Neville's little rant at Karius (after he had a pop at Gary in midweek) was also pretty funny. Sticking up for his brother.

Talked about the penalty shouts the Scousers had.
Depends if the attacks were personal I guess. Still laughing at Michael Oliver's haircut.

Was looking for this thread to say the exact same thing.

Never a red card.
It's one of those fouls though where you can look at it ten times from 3 different angles and go "yea yellow card or no card" but then there's the one angle and time you go "hmm actually yea that's a red".

Thought it was a red myself. It was wild. He had no control about whether he broke a leg or didn't at that point.

Am I missing something? He's launched himself off the ground and basically drop kicked the ball out from under the defender. If that's not excessive force then I'm not sure what is. But of course bellend Murphy can't believe that's a red, whilst Rojo should be in prison for the same thing.

In fact I'd say Vardy's was worse as he was running full pelt.

I'm thinking it isn't nasty, he's being pushed, only 1 foot actually goes into the tackle. does look a little bit aggressive but so does Vardy

retrospective 3 game ban for Rojo seems the fairest, obviously

Is it just me or do the BBC love Chelsea and Arsenal. No matter what happens in the day one of those sides always seems to be first on match of the day.

Rojos midweek tackle wasn't as bad as Vardys tackle. He deserves to be sent off and by the letter of the law so did Rojo.

That said Rojos tackle v Everton was a leg breaker.
