MOTD 2016/17

Poch was completely tactically outdone by Conte in that Chelsea-Spurs game. Along with his poor record in Europe suddenly he's not the shiny new manager that was set to dominate world football any more.
Reminds me of someone...

One of my mates (huge Swansea fan) took his little boy to watch them live for the first time - what a game to choose!

I actually think he's an alright pundit (audibly more so than visually) but I enjoyed Keown talking about Mourinho setting a bad image by 'overreacting' on the pitch.

looking forward to this

bit feisty apparently

and Fabregas gets slapped, :)

Fabregas walking backward towards the advertising boards:lol:
Surely Chelsea and Manchester City will face punishment for failure to control their players. And is Bravo really that much of an upgrade from Joe hart?

Wow that finish by Sanchez on their last goal. I can't remember being so in awe of a one-on-one finish before.

Someone needs to have a word with Alli. He's a proper cheat.

Fareham deserves a retrospective red card for that slap... What a snidey w@nker... Or maybe just very experienced and clever.

Either way, he put his hands on anoyher players face and incited a response.

Also why did the Chelsea player who immediately pushed Ageuro over also not get red? Sure it was reactionary but you can't put your hands on another player no matter the provocation. Thats should be a retrospective red too.

I'm sure there will be a few more too!

I think that palaces first clean sheet in 18 games

That Forster mistake was of Gary Walsh proportions

Seemed like a bit of a smash and grab from Chelsea. City missed some great chances. That De Bruyne one especially.

I like Chris Sutton. I've had a little bit to drink and he talks so slow, it helps me keep track.

We ought to go after Gray. We might be able to get him on the cheap because Leicester are unlikely to achieve much this season.

what is this foolish rule where you can't retaliate to things in football? Mclean smacks the ball into pereyra who defends himself and gets sent off. Mclean only gets a yellow. the feck!?

Wasn't the ball still in play? So he could smack the ball anywhere.

Well, there's this thing called intent. I mean, he was even facing his own goal ffs. Him trying to score an own goal from the half way line is the only logical explanantion for striking the ball that hard.

But the ref can't send a player off for playing the ball, even though the player has cynical intentions for the aforementioned ball.
When the ball is still in play you can kick it anywhere.

Fabregas walking backwards to the advertising hoarding & then taking a dive over them into the front row was fantastic  . Cesc has been an 'orrible bellend for a very long time now, innit.

Who is, ('was' hopefully if they've seen it again, now) defending the Aguero tackle? It was very nasty.

Referee not impressive though. City should have won easily. Stonewall penalty, & some would say a red card for Luiz for denying a goal scoring opportunity - but didn't even get a FK.

Really bad defeat & lose your best player for 4 games, they will do well to come back from this one. Title could be gone for them, certainly.

Yep, I know, that's why I said it was a foolish rule but was more in general than that particular incident. For instance guy A puts his head in front guy B, who does same thing, so he gets sent off, the instigator gets a yellow. Also, see Fabregas from yesterday.

I just don't get how Mclean only got a yellow for the afters that followed and the other guy got a red.

Pretty sure Pep blanked Cesc after the game ended on the pitch but he embraced Pedro warmly. i might be wrong but looked that way.

So much for Pep being his idol now.

Did Fabregas slap Fernandino first too?

Any footage going around?

Can't believe full grown men slap in this day and age, let alone on the Football field in front of thousands of fans and millions of viewers at home.

I noticed that as well. From the live cameras it looked like Fabregas was following him for ages as well trying to grab his attention
