More smoke to the Cisse to Anfield rumours?

Liverpool`s annual turnover last year was $66 million (46,4 million pounds).

turnover is not NET PROFIT. So liverpool have 50mln pounds to spend on players next season.

if u look at how low there turnover is compared to ours then surely u will have to agree, there manager was not given 30mln pounds. If u want to argue he had a Deficit of 5mln pounds when u add the players he bought and sold , MAYBE thats all he was given.

Comparatively our turnover is more than double yours. Don't use the kept last years money for this year story , that happened with Ruud , only cos he was definetly going to be bought.

i think from the loans you have made and the money your clubs makes, your manager will get
20-25 mln pounds to spend if he is lucky and a majority of that will go towards Anelka.

Yes lads. The ripoff coin flips both ways. ;)

At least we had the money to spend, though I don't think we would buy Veron again if we could rewind time to last summer.

That's your typical response when you have run out of facts to argue with.

I take it that you concede defeat in the face of such overwheming "evidence"?

SoftHead reads the Liverpool Echo and therefore it must be fact...LFC have a stack of cash and no debts. They even have enough money left over after spending 50million on players to rebuild UnFilled.

Based on figures that were released before we won the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup, the European Super Cup, qualified for the CL, sold Ziege, Fowler and Westerveld, got to the QFs of the CL, qualified for next seasons CL (as looks likely) and potentially won the CL and/or PL.... no not really. That's why the above posts waranted nothing more than a brief response, especially the pathetic attempts from the Leeds contingent.

Ok then, I bet you Liverpool will not be spending £45 million net this summer. Take it?

I don't think he'll spend that much during the summer, GH also likes to spend a bit during the season too... :)

it'll be close if cisse and NA are both signed. 30-33m on two french strikers both U-23. w/ all the other young french stars signed (17 yr olds) GH is building a french national side north of london! the epl is being invaded from the south!

Anelka will cost LESS than we sold Fowler for. Cisse will cost about £15m.

Softie, have you been on the jamacian woodbines again!
Anelka will go for 15 mill or so if not i cant see PSV letting him go
And the other clown Cisse was 20 mill or so at the last count

Murt a fee was arranged with PSG for Anelka when we first loaned him, Fernandez hinted it was just over £10m

What are you on, thats what happened, Leeds shelled out £13m, £2m of which was a "golden handshake" (so to speak) to Fowler.

collymore was overpriced due to his nationality.

solskjaer was an absolute steal, alright? accepted and granted, he's been wonderful value for money.

so how about veron since every one of you dodged the question - £28M - value for money, or complete rip-off?

if you want the best players in the world you have to pay out, if you want rejects who are going nowhere you get freebies like Jari Litmannen.

Depends how much we get for him if we sell him. How much did you get back on Collymore?

Neither, as that was his market value at the time, as he was rated as one of the best midfielders in the world, but has since failed to the deliver.

Larry has come in and done a great job for us despite what the pathetic english press will tell you,
Jari L came to Pool and has collected a few pay cheques and is scoring as regulary as Mr heskey, enough said.

Eh, what in my reply didn't you understand?

i understood your reply just fine, AEBM :

1) you signed him for £28M (his market value at the time).

2) he has "disappointed" / been shit.

therefore, he does not constitute value for money, i.e. you have been ripped off.

You mean he was to blame for Veron's mistake?

No, it will prove that we've been ripped off if

a) he never delivers for us

or

b) We lose a large amount if we sell him.

I don't think we will sell him, as Sir Alex do recognise quality and has stuck with players he's believed in in the past, Andy Cole for example.

so you're saying that veron is 'potential'?

£28M is a lot to pay for potential.....
