Mo Salah

Where do you get your stats from ? I know for a fact he did for Lille and probably for Chelsea too once
I guess he is only referring to Hazard's time at Chelsea. There, he never reached 20 goals per season in all competitions. At Lille, once.

So that's the new good player metric. Good goal scorers in low scoring teams. It's the only way to know.

Scoring goals in a high scoring team? Either bang average, or completely unknown quality...

Liverpool scored a lot of goals last season too, and their highest scorer was Coutinho with 14 in all comps. I'm going to stick my neck out and gamble against the metric. Mo Salah is a good player.

It's really bizarre logic isn't it?

Jesus was also a terrible comparison as he's only City's 3rd or 4th top scorer! Salah is far and away Liverpool's top scorer.

He is in a team that scores a lot of goals, same as gabriel jesus. Good players but we don't know how good while they play in a team that scores a lot of goals. End of story
Seeing as there's no logical reason to not apply this to defenders playing in good defensive teams and thus players in general playing at good teams, what you're essentially saying is that we need to wait for a good player to at a shite club before knowing how good they actually are.

I'm going to wait until he's in the new Pulis setup at Swansea to properly judge him. No point judging a player playing for a good team, pointless.

Yeah, I agree. Same goes for Messi, btw. Never played for anyone other than the mighty Barca. Can't imagine him being able to do it for West Brom on a cold Wednesday night in Stoke.

Nope, never got 20 for chelsea. Given the way he plays under Conte and the fact he's their penalty taker, you'd expect him to hit those figures this season. Would be poor if he didn't

He can if he wants to.

That's pretty much the story for all top scorers though. Very few would ever hit the top three in a highest scorers list without a strong team behind them.

Alright, he has scored more than 20 once for Lille, I should have said never for Chelsea:

Salah has been impressive this season, but it's too early to compare him with Hazard yet. I'd wait at least couple of years to see if he consistently does that

Some Chelsea fans used to say Hazard can score more goals if he wants to, he isn't that interested or likes to dribble. Something like that.
yeah, no, i fully agree with that. Hazard is the antithesis of Cristiano, a guy with all the talent in the world and zero drive to get the best out of it. He's the guy who gets subbed off with 30 minutes to go in a belgium game and 20 minutes later -while the game isn't over- he's at a nearby burger king eating crap

So you think there's no difference between the amount of goals Messi would score for West Brom vs Barce? Lol

He has already contributed to 28 goals in all club competitions: 22 goals / 6 assists.

For comparison:
Hazard's best season in the PL (14/15): 14 goals / 9 assists
Mahrez 15/16: 17 goals / 11 assists
Salah 17/18 in the PL: 17 goals / 5 assists mid-season

Surely he should be slowing down a bit in the 2nd half of the season?

If chelsea had kept him, De Bruyne and Lukaku, they would be seriously good.

Am I reading that correctly? 17 PL goals already?!

That's truly phenomenal. Very impressive return to the league

Surprised caf consipracists haven't accused him of doping yet.

Obviously don’t want to say this about a Liverpool player, but he’s quite simply one of the best players in Europe this season so far and if he keeps it up all season he’ll be in ballon d’or contention.

To be fair, his numbers this year are better than Hazard's numbers in any year, and it's only December. Although Hazard is still probably the better player overall at the moment. Might be different in a year or two though. This Liverpool team, if managed right, will allow Salah to keep putting the ball in the back of the net consistently.

He's been better than Hazard this season, nothing controversial about that.

Hazard is more of a playmaker while Salah is a pure inside forward who is always looking to shoot. So Salah scoring more goals should not be surprising.

The thing is, although I do wish we had him in our side, seeing as we badly need a attacker on the right anyway, I don't think he'd improve us that much. Rather, it's Liverpool's style of play that I wish Mourinho would employ more so than any specific player.

Think Jesse Lingard will be a better player once he get a bit older.

No he won't!

Wish he was at United, but fantastic for the Premier League. The likes of Salah/Coutinho/Hazard/De Bruyne would have been poached by Madrid/Barcelona not so long ago. All the money in the Premier League now, clubs can resist £120m offers (as seen with Liverpool last summer), so it's not so easy to poach of English sides anymore.

Southampton turned down £60m bids last summer, took £75m to buy Lukaku from Everton so it's not just the top English teams it's hard to buy from now, which is fantastic in my eyes, keep all the best talent in the Premier League.

Only 18 passes completed

So jealous Liverpool bought him. My favourite non United player. Always has a smile on a face.

Him and Willian are my two favourite non-Manchester United players.

How the hell mourinho didn't play him. Imagine Chelsea kept de bruyne and Salah

Hope he comes close to this next season
Tad frustrating he's having this kind of a season and we're so far off the pace.

He could have had 5 today. Was fuming he missed two sitters in the first half - but he rectified his mistake.
