Am I the only one thinking the opposite? I hope Salah stays at Pool. He starts to decline and actually could be a negative to Pool especially now he is also unsettled.

If he was sold for 200M, Liverpool will have the funds for proper rebuild and could be better for them.

I think many people are with you mate.

Great time for the owners to sell with the window closing. Huge fee and can`t spend it .

And the sneaky Saudis further inflate the market by January so Saka is worth no less than £175m by then. Our cash devalues until then.

Another week of tampering while the European window is closed

Can't even replace him if he does end up fecking off.

True , it will be really hard to replace Salahs goals but that problem was always getting closer, better to be paid a big sum for him than he declines so much that no one wants him.

Won every trophy though. Unless he's sticking around to win the Europa.

Yes but there's 4 trophies a year on offer. He's only won FOUR out of the 24/28 available.
What sort of player is satisfied by winning each trophy just once in 6 or 7 years?

Without Klopp and Salah Pool would have won 0 so he’s lucky he won those at Pool.

Not like they have a budget to go after big trophies without selling players. Liverpool just aren’t set up for success really at the highest level against city, Madrid, United, psg who can throw cash out the window.

What the feck is that fee? I'm convinced our lot would struggle to sell our entire squad for £150m.

If Liverpool do sell Salah, then I think they'll have done an almost unbelievable job from a purely financial perspective in terms of replacing their older players.

Keita (28), Fabinho (29), Oxlade-Chamberlain (29), Mane (30, last year), Firmino (31), Salah (31), Henderson (33), Milner (37). It's an almighty clear out, and I don't imagine they planned to do all that so quickly. Most teams would do that over 2 or 3 summers. Big risk, but it might pay off. If it doesn't and they struggle this year, then there'll be a lot of blame being shared around though.

Edit - could anyone hazard a guess as to what proportion of their wage bill those 8 players accounted for?

Why would Liverpool ruin any chance of having a decent season?
Waiting till the last day to bid is insane.

Ambassador to Saudi Arabia ? Seems a bit dodgy.
Messi was a tourism ambassador for Saudi, though his paycheck for the honour was a meagre £25m. But I imagine it's primarily an image rights and tourism promotion title. Quite a few of the super salaries earned by big name players in the league are for image rights as opposed to club contracts.

Think these cnuts will just keep calling figures till Liverpool say yes.

I find it hard to believe that they are actually offering £200m.

Would any of you be willing to sell Rashford for £200M? I probably would if it were earlier in the transfer window.

They are wining the Europa league with or without Salah. That will be a decent season for them. Cash in now, and start work on your targets for next season.

Someone always wants an old hero, be it Messi, Ronaldo or Salah. Salah has the 'Muslim' tag too which is priceless in that region. I'd rather sell him for £80-100m next summer than £200m this summer.

As long as Mo is not pushing too hard from his own end.

This is a fantastic deal for Liverpool, but has surely come too late. No chance to spend that money now until January, which means short-term weakening of the squad for financial gain (not very palatable for the fans).

i would def for 200 million. Feel like wide attackers are where there can be great value in the world if you just look in the right spot. The big thing is though i wouldnt trust this ownership/scouting/transfer network to spend it wisely. You should be able to find easily 4 high quality players for 200 million. They might not be overpriced/100 percent finished products at the exact moment, but the value would easily be there in the world. Tap back into the south american market better for instance, and get some great value there. A well run club would be able to get a new LW, another CF to lead the line, a deep midfielder, and then prob a CB to replace varane all for that money.

There isn't a player in the squad we wouldn't sell for that amount. It is crazy money.

If you sell him right now, you have no time to sign a replacement, and clubs knowing you have 200M fresh with a few hours left are going to shank you for any mediocre player...

I think if he stays, you’ll still get the same offer next year from the same club or some other club from that league and so I think Liverpool would be wise keep him unless he pushes for a move and I think that would be crazy on his part. He’s too good to over there right now unless he’s motivated by the money and the money alone and he doesn’t seem the type. I think moves in that direction are going to damage the legacy of a player like Salah who is still quite young and no amount of success at a Saudi club mean anything.

I hope he stays in the PL, as much as he torments us

£200m for a 31 year old losing his pace is a heck of a thing to turn down, even for a season of pain.

Nobody is offering that with one year left. Only one Saudi club is offering that now. It’s 200m because Liverpool can turn it down and it’s a 2 year wait. This time next year they can sign him in 3 months for free

Don't understand why they waited till the last week of the window to put in an official bid, surely if they'd done that early July and Salah wanted to go he'd been off immediately.

I guess it's a statement signing for them
What with their infinite money and all
