MLB 2022

Crazy that the 2001 Mariners didn't open up such a lead on the A's, but the A's themselves ended up winning 102 games that season.
Not as crazy as the 1993 Giants having the second best record in baseball by 6 games (103 wins, next best was 97) and missing the playoffs as they finished second in the NL West to the Atlanta(????) Braves. Pre-realignment/WC baseball was just weird.

Rays right now

At least this loss wasn't determined in the first inning. I'll take being beaten by potentially the hottest hitter in September (Bichette's kid who almost had his nose removed via a 97mph fastball a couple innings prior).

Thankfully we have the tie break v. the Orioles (can't see our slide going that far down, but who knows?).

It's gonna be a fun little battle between Seattle, Toronto, & us for WC seeding. We play nine games against Toronto in the next two weeks, so there should be some separation there.

They're all making fun of baseball in the mains :(

Dumb as hell but I can't help laugh at the irony of it meaning Tepera is waiting even more time to pitch :p
If it's in reference to the thick as shit Chelsea owner's comments, then it is well earned.

Spencer Strider just broke Randy Johnson's record for fastest to hit 200 strikeouts - got there in 130 innings.

He's a total freak. Currently edging out Gerritt Cole's 2019 for highest K/9 ever for anyone with 100+ innings (13.84 vs. 13.82). Braves' farm system and player development remains among the very best.

He's unreal. Braves have a star in the making

This comment from a Phillies' fan always makes me laugh -

still cant get over the fact that luigi from super mario bros throws 100+ mph on every fecking pitch. the braves finding these guys is like some kind of next level witchcraft. this guy will probably end up signing like a 7 year, $34m contract too. feck the entire braves organization and all of their fans

Scary to think as well that he's doing this with basically 2 pitches. If he can become comfortable with his changeup he could reach another level too.

One of those nights where I’ll always remember where I was (top) plus a good documentary about bottom)…

Judge hit 60 and took the lead in batting average as well, triple crown within sites along with a historic AL homerun mark. MVP easily.
Was going to post this very thing. If he wins the triple crown, he should get it. If he doesn't, Ohtani should win it.

Having doubts Judge is going to get those two homers he needs. Pitchers are not giving him much to hit for power.
I’m thinking a bit like this as well. He’s gonna have to hit glaring mistake pitches to get a HR or two.

So glad he's tied the record now, what a hitter. One more for the AL record, someone throw him some meatballs.

Rant... I am sick of these holier than thou analysts and commentators talking about this will be the "true" record. The same crowd cheering on Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa back in the day when it was "saving baseball." Now it's cliche to be against that era and cite "asterisks should be attached." That's how many felt of Maris' mark as it took him eight additional games to break Ruth's record, and he did such in game 162 in the 1961 expansion year so spare me any plate appearance argument.

So, if these assclowns are going to disregard the late 90s/early 00s marks and cry asterisk, let's return to the same for Maris. I mean he had an additional advantage and under the prior 154-game seasons he'd have finished on 58. We also do not know if Judge is clean or any other player since the 80s. Nor has MLB cancelled any records, vacated playoff wins, and refunded fans expenses. Feck off.

On top of all that, which I agree with, amphetamine usage was rampant as well for decades. Should be eliminate those guys?
