No broadcast so. Hopefully we can watch the away match at least.

Yeah it seems like the club has prioritized the experience for the boys to play an evening game under the lights with a big stadium and a big crowd. I can understand that, even though I don’t like missing yet another academy game.

Yea at least it is understandable here with them getting to play at Old Trafford. Although I’d question a big crowd, 6pm will be very hard for people to get to from work and I can’t actually see any mention of it from the club so the marketing will no doubt be non existent and people won’t even know.

The latest academy briefing also says the away match won’t be broadcast due to CL clash despite there being no clash so can chalk that one off too.

Sorry it’s 7pm, thought AZ had used their own local time in the tweet.

That sucks. I guess a 16:00 GMT kickoff isn’t early enought to not clash with a 17:45 GMT CL kickoff. Fecking annoying.

Something about this warms my heart. Seasoned professionals, academy graduates and 16-17 year old talents who are aiming to become ones - all together.

Wonder if Curley is actually on a work experience loan somewhere as he keeps appearing in the training photos but didn't play for the U21s for a while already.

I’d hazard a guess he was one of the two at Rotherham the other week anyway. One of them was a centre mid and only Curley and Moorhouse fit the bill but Moorhouse is just back from long term injury so more likely to be Curley you’d think.

Jaedon Donkor is on trial at Forest and was part of their U17s side that played Liverpool in the PL Cup last night. Would suggest he hasn't been offered a scholarship.

Yeah heard the same from a Forest youth follower. Wouldn't be surprised if Bradsbury is the only attacker retained from that group.

Manchester United’s U18s fixture with Wolves has been postponed due to their FA Youth Cup involvement on Monday night.

The game, which was due to be shown live on MUTV on Saturday morning, will now be played on Tuesday 18 February at 19:00 GMT.

Looks like Ruben Curley has signed a new contract at the club. I believe the previous one would’ve ended next summer.

No idea why they would sign him for longer.

Resale value. Guess every pound we get for our own academy players (who cost nothing), whether by direct transfer fee or sell-on clause is a bonus.

Yeah, those 5-15m, and whatever sale-on clauses we put on make a decent bit of money. That has made us more money than some of the players we bought for a lot of cash but had to let them go for free or very little amount to get the wages off the book. Also, if by chance they flourish on loans, that is also not bad for us currently.

You would be lucky to get 300k for him.
We will not get any money for him for sure. The best case scenario is loan him out for a year, and sell him next year if he has good loan spell for sell on fee. In that case you have some money in the future if he get some good L1 or CH career and eventually get some PL transfer. It will not happen for all of the kids, but a few of them might get on that route, and club can earn in the future money that will be important for us.

Always had my suspicions but I, somewhat naively, thought the club might have done their due diligence.

It's actually me that found this haha. It's from my account on Bigsoccer.
So can this be taken as definite then? And if so what sort of impact would it have in terms of expectations for them development wise?

So are we saying these lads are potentially 17-19? U13 in 2018, would make them 12/13, so 18/19 now.
Sorry, just want to be sure I understand this correctly.

I think the other poster is just highlighting how Bigsid harped on this issue for so long and now eventually it turns out he might be true.

The other player, William Gueke, who plays for City is actually 17-18 and not the 14-year-old he is listed as. So I suspect the Nkotos (if they're even real brothers) are probably the same.

Well their date of birth is listed as 27/09/2010. So if the picture posted, which is dated 21/08/2018 saying U13's is correct they would have to have been 7 years of age and playing 5 age groups up. When in reality it is more likely they were 12 years old and thus a presumed talented U14 could actually be 19 years of age.
