Mirko Vucinic

We are close to sign Vucinic if Berba leave, Alessandro Lucci (Vucinic's agent) today was in Manchester for a first meet.

I just don't understand this rumour. Why one earth would we get another winger/striker?

Vucinic agent Alessandro Lucci:"The meeting with United executives happened yesterday not today."

Please no :nervous:

Fergie turning as bad as Wenger... Buying in every position but the one needed. He would probably come in and be the best finisher in the club but. He's not needed and it would definitely see the departure of two Strikers, Berba being the main one.

It'd fit our transfer policy this Summer though i.e. purchase players for positions that we are already packed in while neglecting the ones that are calling for improvement.

Mirko Vucinic's agent Alessandro Lucci: "Man Utd, however, really like Vucinic, but to see him with their shirt, there is still work to do."

These rumours are beginning to scare me now.

Resident gimps out in force again.

Nothing against Vucinic, he's a decent player but so unnecessary. I would much rather we splash on a world class midfielder and just throw Welbeck and Macheda in the deep end. I have faith in Chicharito and Owen can also do a job.

WTF? I really don't understand this move if true?!

Like Bear Attack said above, I would rather see Welbeck given a chance than fecking Mirko Vucinic ffs!

Would be disappointing if this is our one 'World Class' addition. Can't see it, though.

He's not. Berbatov leaving is the only explanation for this, and Fergie likes to have at least 3-4 "senior" strikers. He values his strikeforce much more than his midfield, it seems.

This is just his agent talking to get better deals out of whoever he's really negotiating with.

If this interest is indeed true, I find it outrageously bizarre. Vucinic is not young nor will he come cheap so why would we be interested in him when we have a better player in Berbatov. And suppose Berbatov is on his way out, we have promising young strikers in Welbeck and Macheda along with Owen whom we offered a new contract to.

This is a real head scratcher.

That does not make much sense either. Suppose Berbatov is leaving so we would have Rooney, Hernandez, and Owen as our primary "senior" strikers. And with Welbeck's great season at Sunderland, surely he would have a spot on the bench rather than fester in the reserve team.

macheda and welbeck loaned out.
berba sold.
diouf sold
nani swap for sneijder...
strikers:
rooney
chicha
vucinic
owen

more direct than berba, might fit the system better but would only really make sense if he was going cheap, which i doubt he would be so i reckon its just his agent talkung bollocks.

Fantastic news if true. Now we just need another centre-back. Or maybe two. A winger would be nice as well.

He's been a decent player at Roma for a while , must admit, I would be surprised if Fergie signed him though.

Problem is it's so hard to evaluate what Owen could give you, since he's out for half a season every year, and if you sell Berba and Owen is injured, suddenly we look a bit thin up front. Still, we did give him a new deal so we must be hopeful on his fitness...

Like people here said, it won't be happening unless Berbatov is gone. And I don't think it is happening. He's a good player, actually, but it's a bit like Huntelaar. We keep getting linked with him for years and never more.

There's no reason to swap Vucinic for Berbatov. Berba is a better player and wants to stay. Berba is older but hardly relies on pace so should be able to continue for a good few years.

Absolutely zero chance of this happening. Berba will stay, Owen recently signed a new deal and Welbeck and Macheda are unlikely to go out on loan. And I haven't even mentioned Rooney and Chico yet. No chance.

Do not understand the point of signing him. SAF said himself we have plenty of strikers and I'd rather keep Berba and give Welbeck/Kiko chances instead of signing another striker. Hope this isn't the 1 player Gill was referring to.
