Gaming Minecraft | New caf 1.18 SMP server SIGN UP?

Good idea blythy, edited and shamelessly added to the new page:

The town hall is almost finished. It has/will have the following:

- A spawn pad (if vol agrees to set the spawn there)
- A community noticeboard
- A welcome noticeboard (with loose rules/instructions) to new players
- A free starter kit in a chest for new players
- A nether portal
- Full enchantment room
- A 'crows nest' for a view of the town.
- Deposit boxes for every player which can be used as storage or post boxes for trade purposes (must remain unlocked)

The starter kit contains the following atm (mention if you think it needs something else)

- There is a locked double chest in the spawn room which I've allowed about 6 people access to, which contains multiple items from the starter kit so we can quickly replace them when a new player joins. There's some stuff in there atm, no full kits but if everyone helps with a couple of tools there will be 3-4 and the 6 of us are responsible for re-filling the starter kit chest.

- Be sure to check the noticeboard often and remove outdated signs you may have placed if it looks a little packed.

P.S need the whitelist Vol for the deposit box signs

Good looking town hall, sorry I haven't been on much recently.

I thought they were taken by Vol or someone and kept safe for future use(?).

Sigh

And yet you complain the lava cube doesn't fit in. Pah!

Actually more 'utterly horrendous' than just 'not fitting in', good spot from you pal, thanks.

For the record, I mentioned your stuff no more than the next guy before you started to pipe up preaching to me about the creativity of the rest of the players.

He burnt it to the ground and said he was never playing again according to VIM

I played a very early and very limited version of this and really wanted to love it but it became pretty dull playing it solo and it was seemingly taking ages to progress...

However, after seeing the stuff you guys have done and seeing the good knowledge you have about the game and multi-player, I'm seriously considering getting it again.

My current laptop seems to be unable to run the game anymore, it freezes and needs reboots too often, so I'll have to take a break till I replace it :(

also, wtf is that huge white building there?!

I've not been on for a while, but what the hell is that massive thing in the bottom left, a stadium?

That aerial view looks awesome. I will get on and join you lot at some point. I just find a lot of the time my Mac at home is too slow for the game.

My new house!*

*which also looks better on the inside!

Sucks you can't come on, the town hall has a spawn pad that is ready to be activated :(

Definitely get it dude, the more the merrier!

£17 sounds right, make one or two quid cheaper, and yes I play on PC and we all play in harmony together. :)

Nope, just the game, a computer and some time. You just put your Minecraft username in this thread and hopefully vol can add you to the whitelist, however he says he's having troubles playing the game right now so maybe that'd be tricky I'm not sure how it works, but leave your name and I'm sure he will help ya out.

Note the i.p for our server is redcafe.tanganaika.net

Oh I can login alright, and admin stuff doesn't really require me playing, it's just that if I try playing it, at some random, not too distant point in the future my computer will crash :)

Anyway, no problem with the admin part, so just drop me a message if something urgent is needed!

I need help with redstone. I'm trying to make it so that by default the piston is extended when in off, and by pushing a button it will compress the piston before extending it again after a few seconds. I can only get it to do it the other way round. :(

Button.. Block.. Wire.. Wire.. Wire.. Block.. Redstone Torch.. Wire.. Wire.. Wire.. Piston

All in a horizontal line, with the torch on the side of the block.

:D

Yeah I worked it out, I was putting down normal torches without realising they needed to be redstone torches. :D

Secret bookcase operational, doorbell operational, and added a fountain, bathroom and greenhouse for my melons, made a little private beach at the foot of my house and going to make a pier and boat.

Ok, I set up my account. My username is Brocky36

I'll play a little single player and read some forums & Wiki for a while, before I join the server, just to get used to things. The game has changed a lot since I played the late Alpha / early Beta release.

Does everyone use vanilla textures or is there a quality pack out there I should get? Preferably something 'realistic' looking....but not too outlandish...?
