He's nowhere near as good as Fletcher, Cleverley et al. He's a headless chicken who was absolutely shite last night.
Based on what I saw in the game against Ghana.....Nothing. Just trotted over the field, didn't track back or mark anybody then wasted the ball with awful passing. The Germans will bury him.
I agree he wasn't that great today but he's better than many are giving him credit for. I'd say at his best he's as good as a pre-illness Fletcher. Can't wait to see what he does against the Germans.
my favrote part of the article.....utterly pointlesssaid:"Altidore, who currently does not have an agent, could depart during the next transfer period in Europe over the summer. Or he could stick around. "
I'm Irish Canadian. I'd probably have him as our second best midfielder just ahead of Fellaini and Cleverley. As I said I earlier I wouldn't sign him but right now I'd have Carrick and Bradley in midfield. I rate Cleverley and think his potential is higher but he's been poor the last year so I'd have to give Bradley the edge right now.I'm genuinely curious, how many of the folks who rate him/think he's better than what we have are from the USA?

Sorry but I watched him very closely. I usually pick one player in a team just to see what his strategy is as I have heard so much about him. He should have marked players much closer and in my opinion was responsible for opposing players moving into the box. Also when he did get the ball he gave it away far to easily. It was one game, imagine judging Rooney solely on his performance against Italy

Rooney is a completely different player but he did lay a great pass for the goal which is what its about.
I watched him closely for a reason the fact being I was asked to. In any case one must remember he had a chance with a Premier League team but was just not deemed good enough. He has one more chance against Germany, with me anyway. No matter highly closely you watched him it doesn't change the fact that it was just one game. Judging any player on just one game is silly
He's a good player. Much better than how he was against Ghana. Better than Cleverley that's for sure. But I think it was stupid of him career-wise to go to the MLS. He easily could be playing in any of the top leagues for a good team. He was really solid at Roma. Disappointed that he's essentially done a cop-out on taking his career seriously by joining Toronto. Same with Dempsey.

Fellaini actually scored at WC.Slight improvement from Fellaini I would say. At least he hit the target.
Although could be a good signing for us. He wastes good chances almost as good as Cleverley.
Cant believe people are saying he can actually play for us. Hell fecking no! He is no where near the quality we should be looking at.
Had a much better game against Portugal but lost it for USA in the dying minute. NOT United material by any stretch of the imagination.
The only American you could see helping United is Fabien Johnson, even though he's nothing special defensively, because he's skillful, quick and apparently plays every wide position reasonably well. He just moved, so we won't be signing him, but if we wanted to get Varela a year of EPL experience on loan at a club needing a right back, we could sign him to cover both fullback spots.
I suppose Green too, if he's the talent people say.
Bradley has more quality going forward than he's had the chance to show, and the miss today was a bit of a freak accident, but he's not good enough for a top 6 EPL team. Good offensive instincts and not a weakling, but not particularly special in terms of link play or snuffing out danger. I guess he failed at Villa, but that actually seems like a good fit for him, playing alongside Delph and with Westwood behind him. Hull would be a good idea, too, since they tend to play Livermore, Huddlestone and one other and could use someone who can contribute offensively on the counter in that spot instead of marathoner and normally crap footballer David Meyler.
Pre-illness Fletcher made the premier league team of the season in 2010. I don't think Bradley ever sniffs that level of consistency and quality.
