Mexico at World Cup 2014

robben trips on himself, look at the play in slow motion you will see how robben uses his right leg to trip his left leg, drags it, and dives.

robben dives and the ref took the bait. it was never a penalty.

Nah it was fair. First half Robben should have already gotten a penalty after Moreno injured himself. Its harsh for Mexixo though, i liked them and they have an excellent team but LVG tactically outclassed Herrera after the 1-0.

fair, lol. robben dives and the ref takes the bait.

yeah the 1st half one was a penalty but the ref was too far from the play and the linesman didn't signal anything. but that final play, was a clear dive by robben. game should have continued to extra time and possibly penalties.

i agree that piojo got the tactics wrong, but the ref was the one who awarded holland with a non existent penalty in the final minutes.

and you can clearly see Marquez is not stepping, tripping or contacting robbens foot. robben dives and the ref took the bait. it was never penalty. the game should have gone to extra time and possibly to penalties.

forward motion, mis huevos, look at the play Robben trips his foot, drags it behind, and dives. NEVER A PENALTY.

Actually, the photo proves just that: Marquez steps on his foot, thus contact is there and thus Robben trips (there really is no way Robben's foot is avoiding Marquez)

You saying "look at the play" instead of accepting the obvious photographic evidence is like you saying "I pulled out in time ese!" after the doctor says "She is pregnant"

(I know you are just trolling) :)

Honestly, Marquez only touches Robben's foot and Robben of course makes a bloody meal out of it a la Ashley Young vs Aston Villa for example. The "contact" rule here has been greatly exaggerated and in my opinion is not enough to call a penalty. This only makes the diving of players like Robben, Young, Neymar, etc. in the future justified and I hope officials get a grip in the future.

El Diego has had his say on the performances so far: Don't blame Messi if they fail.

He said Argentina's big name team were playing at only 40 percent of their capacity and criticized them for only squeaking past Switzerland 1-0 with a last-gasp goal in extra time.

"Man-for-man, and collectively, Argentina are better. They (the Swiss) may make good watches but they have few footballers."

Whoops. Wrong thread. How about Mexico eh?
