The couldn't even hold up on day one when using the fecking idroid.

Read this on NeoGaf:

Oh man, when you exit a game unless the Host (randomly selected) stays for the full results, nobody earns XP. Also if the host quits mid game, everybody is kicked.

This was the replied gif:

People are losing levels and progress - seems a bit of a mess right now!

So which classes do people have a preference for?

With advanced scouting capabilities, the "Recon Class" specialties are long-range combat and support functions. Movement speed and strength are average making this a great choice for beginners.

With great strength, the "Heavy Class" specializes in powerful weapons. However, movement speed is slow making this class less effective in close quarters. This class is for intermediate players.

Fast moving, the "Infiltration Class" specialty is close combat such as CQC. Due to the strength being low, you should avoid a head-on battle. This is a class for experienced players.

Apparently, once you select your class (which you do when you first start the game), then you are stuck with that class until you reach level 6 - whereupon you can then switch.

WHAT??

Serves are pants I couldn't get joining a session just running around shooting targets

Same.

Tis true. I chose enforcer because Scouting seems boring and Stealth seems like a pain for someone who likes to go guns blazing every now and then.

Think I will go for either the Scout or Infiltrator class.

Have you been able to play many games? Thoughts?

I was forced to go back to motherbase after a side op to hear about how Ralph was crushed by pipes. Also Eli stared me down....am I meant to do something?

Also when does legendary gunsmith 2 become available? I'm on mission 31 so I thought it would be there by now

Apparently, Konami is now offering insurance for your FOB in exchange for MB coins. So basically real money. Words fail me. So FOB means you'll get invaded and you could lose your stuff and the only way to be completely covered is to pay money. In other words, you'd be paying money for "protection". The only correct way to play MGSV for me is to never, ever go online. I've been doing that since day one and I seriously doubt it'll ever change.

He became available around mission 13 for me.

The whole thing with losing stuff from FOB infiltration is much ado about nothing.

Firstly, successfully infiltrating a properly defended FOB is pretty difficult and the top ranked guys don't actually go to steal resources, but just to get to the core undetected. Why? Because trying to take on 50+ guards with helmets and heavy armour (immune from tranquilliser rounds) is always going to end in detection and then, more often than not, the infiltrator being neutralised. Thus, stealthily making it to the core and only neutralising a few guards when necessary is the safest and most cost-efficient approach. Being detected also then allows the defending FOB owner a retaliation attempt.

Secondly, once you have a half-decent FOB, you'll be making enough resources that a few containers going amiss is no big deal. By the time you've unlocked FOBs, Mother Base should be almost maxed, so you'll pretty soon have a surplus of materials and GMP.

I have two FOBs and have had around 30 infiltration attempts in the last two weeks, or so. Only four of those actually succeeded in making it to the core and a couple more managed to do any slightly notable damage. These were mainly hits on newly built platforms with one or two decks only. Get your platforms up to three or four decks, max your security and it makes things much more difficult for thieves.

Also, support a bunch of people and they'll likely support you back. You get good rewards for successfully defending someone's FOB and it's fun and easy to do, so people are willing to have your back.

All in all, by not having a FOB, you're really missing out on being able to increase your staff capacity beyond ~150 per platform and that limits your max platform level. For comparison, my units are around level 84 and I'm nowhere near maxed out on my FOB upgrades yet.

Seriously, it's much ado about nothing. The people whining need to just grow a set and put some thought into defending their stuff. As do the mugs that pay for insurance.

FFS Konami. A new low.

I don't really understand why you posted all that. The point is that having real money insurance in a video game in this manner is a new low in the world of micro transactions, regardless of whether you like or dislike the FOB gameplay mechanism.

It wasn't aimed directly at you. More the people who complain about being able to be infiltrated and have materials taken. It was also me offering an experienced insight into the FOB side of the game and some advice to those that don't want to log online or develop a FOB, because they think all their stuff will be taken. That's all.

I get the micro-transaction thing and agree with you.

Well tbf even if the FOB mode was the best thing ever I still wouldn't log in as long as online menu lag exists. Unless I missed the micro transaction to go on a faster server.

I don't have an issue with the menu, tbh. Some of the screens taking a couple of seconds to load isn't such a big deal, imo.

How are people getting on with MGO? I started with a Scout but, after trying Infiltrator, I've not bothered with the Scout. It does seem a bit OP, as someone said earlier. Many times I have doubled the score of the next best player in the match, simply by using Ninja CQC and Fulton.

Would be cool to get a good squad going with a tank, spotter and a couple of Ninjas.

I tried the enforcer after initially making an infiltrator but he's too slow and the health benefit doesn't seem to be that noticeable . The stun grenades for the infiltrator are pretty good too. I have two infiltrators, one guy at level 14 and a woman at level 8.

The party system needs some work. It keeps putting me and my friend in opposite teams. Also the games are too short and at times I've been cqc'd when I'm not even standing that close to the enemy. Hit detection is a bit dodgy too

Anyone know why the game is giving me so much FOB resources? In the past 2 days I've been given 70k BM, 40k CM, 15k MM and 2k PM for doing nothing. Annoying that it hasn't gave any Fuel Resources which is the only thing I need.

Your FOB automatically mines raw resources and also processes materials that you have stored in the containers.

Currently at 99% completion. Really struggling to find one of the animals - Leopard Tortoise - and still don't have the last of Paz's photographs....though I may get that when I get the last animal. Also need to develop a FOB nuke and also dispose of one to get Platinum.

How come it doesnt mine fuel resources. I picked the FOB with the letter B under fuel resources as I thought it meant I would get more

They really are stingy with fuel
