When can he sign a contract with another club?
It used to be from January, didn't it?

He can agree a pre contract agreement with any team not in England, if we was to ign him it would have to be in the summer when his contract ends. When can he sign a contract with another club?

Wages.Surprised Juventus arent in for him. They love a freebie.
I think Ozil's age is against him now. We already have Matic and Sanchez approaching thirty we shouldn't build a team solely around aging players. If we do bring in another midfielder this summer I hope its someone under 26-27. Ideally someone in their early twenties that can be around for years.
Wouldn't go as far as 'shock'. Not unusual to see attackers whose games are based around mobility have a sharp or sudden decline in their early to mid30s. The Zlatans and Carricks are the ones I'd be shocked to see fall off a cliffWhilst I agree generally I'd be shocked if Ozil isn't still an excellent player into his early to mid 30s
But that isn’t what his game is based around?Wouldn't go as far as 'shock'. Not unusual to see attackers whose games are based around mobility have a sharp or sudden decline in their early to mid30s. The Zlatans and Carricks are the ones I'd be shocked to see fall off a cliff
Don't mix pace with mobility. Nearly every attacker uses mobility. Point being a decline in athleticism could screw up their mobility and their effectivenessBut that isn’t what his game is based around?
Was Zlatan’s game not based around mobility and athleticism (poor example because he’s a freak of nature), Totti, Giggs, there are probably more examples but my brain is blerghDon't mix pace with mobility. There are diferent aspects of athleticism yet everyone keeps thinking it only relates to pace. Zlatan's brand of athleticsm wasn't solely pace or agility based. But yes there's no science to age decline. It's often as random as genetics. Impossible to predict who will be effective in their mid30s. It's not a prediction you (or i) would put your mortgage on.Was Zlatan’s game not based around mobility and athleticism (poor example because he’s a freak of nature), Totti, Giggs, there are probably more examples but my brain is blergh
It seems to be players who’s main trait is athleticism and pace who drop off, Ozil isn’t that.
If we go for Ozil we'll need to re-balance our midfield. Matic although positionally sound barely has the legs to cover for Pogba.
City can use this kind of setup because of their possession dominant gameplans. Would be surprised to see Jose ever lineup with a midfield 3 featuring two defensive liabilities and one anchor
Maybe I should have worded it better. If we get Ozil, Pogba will continue his role as a deep midfielder. He won't play both in advanced positions even with Matic as an anchor. Was referring to the people posting formations with both players further up.I’m surprised to hear you would be surprised at that, since we have predominantly played with Pogba in a deep pair with a no.10 during his and Mourinho’s time here.
True. I've said it's not a science. Three years ago I would have guessed wrong on silva's decline. He was 31 only 2 months ago so maybe there still time for that shite prediction to redeem itself . He isn't exactly in his mid30s. Don't see enough of both players(ini and silva) these days to know how they measure up to when they were in their primes@Greck I don't know what your definition of mobility is. When you look at David Silva, it counter every point you made. His game was every inch built around mobility. Same can be said about Iniesta for while when he got in his early 30s.
I don't want him at Utd. He is an upgrade on Juan Mata but with similar weaknesses. I would rather focus on bolstering our centre midfield options. I also would like to see us move to a 4-3-3 system next season.
Pehaps, Sanchez wanted to move more and we couldn't afford to see him at the other side of town. Ozil is doing fine. Perhaps he's cool waiting for summer or the report is true that he's still at crossroad yet to be certain about one decisionWhy exactly are we in for him at this very moment in time? imo we need him more than we needed Sanchez.
Honestly one of the best passes I've seen all season. Get him out of there ASAP.
Not convinced he meant that.
Why don't you go and grab that? I'll be glad discuss about itShow GIF when he gave a ball away and then went on his knees moaning and watching Swansea play and score.
Those few minutes were peak Ozil. Brilliant creativity and technique to get his team a goal followed by weak, stroppy play to cost them one.
Not convinced he meant that.
Don't think he meant it either.
Anyway...I still don't want him. Well, I keep changing my mind, but I desperately want us to change to a 433, which means they'll be no point in signing Ozil.
Instead, we should sign a top class centre midfielder who shares a similar style to Modric, Thiago, etc.
