After watching that video, does anyone else feel that he has changed his style of a play a bit, from what I've seen of him (not much), he seems to have become more of a passer than a runner, he's still dynamic but not as dynamic as he used to be
Which makes me doubt if he can actually play that RW position when we play 4-3-3
But can't doubt his creativity, still up there with the best

I agree with this, we can use the Mata money to buy a wide player, someone like Mahrez, would give us serious depth in our front 3 or 4, whatever we decide to play.

Imagine something like this.

.................... Lukaku.................
Sanchez.........Ozil........Mahrez
............... Pogba.....Matic.........
.......................Back5.................

We'll totally wipe the floor with near 16 PL teams, home or away doesn't matter.

Important is to spend in two correct midfielders who can give us death there.
Devious plan fielding 12 players.

Yes, but also due to the systems I think. I haven't watched much of the German national team, but Mourinho had him covering more ground than Wenger has and he also had more space in that Madrid side. He's excellent on the ball ball still but used more consistently closer to goal now. Possibly due to him being another cog in the machine rather than being the absolute 2nd best player (after Sanchez). Perhaps with Matic in the team and playing close to Pogba he'll find tons of space when you consider Arsenal's defensive midfielders have been shite since he came and Ramsey isn't in Pogba's league.

Back 5 = defence and keeper
Is that a thing? Back 5: De Gea, Shaw, Bailly, Smalling, Valencia. Including the keeper in the Back Five? I have only heard of outfield players being grouped, in formations like 3-5-2-1, or 4-3-3.

It's definitely not a thing.

Even with another season of no CL?
I don't know, things change quickly in football. Not saying Arsenal will finish fourth or win the Europa League, but stranger things have happened.

I do think signing Mikhi was Arsenal basically preparing for the after life in case he walks away.

Exactly what we are missing.

Every decent arsenal move involves him. No wonder they are so desperate to keep him.

Sign him up Jose!

He was fantastic tonight, however I think Wilshere outshone him - who is also coincidentally on a free in the summer - may be more of what we need (if he can stay clear of injuries)

I think he stops pogba playing in his best position if we sign him, so i guess the question is, is he a better attacker than pogba?

He would be a fantastic signing. Hard to think of anyone more graceful with the ball. His technique is superb. On a footballing level I would swap Mata in a heartbeat.

Can’t understand why anyone would be against Ozil on a free. The mind boggles.

Maybe people who watch them more could answer but hasn't he been playing a lot of his football from the right drifting inside this season?

Would still like (and think we need) Griezmann or Dybala just behind Lukaku, but would be a good back-up option as you could then put Sanchez through the middle and Ozil on the right.

Might be controversial but Ozil at his best is better than Pogba at his best (if that makes sense). Admittedly they do two totally different jobs, but I would argue that a #10 that can create chances for Lukaku, Martial, Ozil, Rashford, and anyone else in the front 3 is more important than Pogba. Reason is that I think it would actually allow Pogba more space and a person to combine and create with. We could finally see the Pogba from Juventus that everyone has been craving too see.

One thing I will say, he wouldn't be completely oblivious to Lukaku when he is in 10 yards of space bearing down on goal.

We wouldn't, as he'd be in a midfield 2. Özil won't help him out defensively like Vidal did.

Think Silva and de bruyne at city. With two very good creative players near each other it makes it a very strong channel and very hard to defend against.

Actually, I do think ozil can work in a midfield 3. Look at city - KDB and Silva are not true CMs but are working well. Ozil in a 3 will be like how Giggsy dropped deeper later in his career. Ozil's workrate is also pretty underrated in my opinion.

Ozil and Wilshere. FFs, this is so obvious. Arsenal are just giving top class players away. It's like picking grapes of a vine

A Matic, Pogba, Ozil midfield is fecking fantastic. Tie that to a Martial, Lukaku, Sanchez front line, and that’s an incredible team.

And that still leaves you with Mata, Lingard and Rashford off the bench.

We swop Mata for Ozil, Good deal?
Why give away Mata when we can get Ozil for free in the summer.
There's no urgent need for him right now as the league is already decided and he can't be registered in the CL Team
Ozil and Sanchez (almost) on a free has to be the best bit of business we have done in years

Definitely seen it used in that context a few times before. It's a bit unnecessarily confusing, granted.
