Lads calm down... Nothing has been made official and i'm sure we would be aware of another club making a bid!!

I don't think we will enter into a bidding war the last time we did we got ass raped good and proper and it still hurts so if we know Barcelona is in the hunt I think we will name a price and then that's it. We have walked away from Ljajec transfer so we have more resolve to say no than yes.

Barca now the bookies favourites to acquire him, obviously they see value and they have less need to sign him than us. Sad we passed up the opportunity to buy him because we could'nt afford a measley 12m, the price of being owned by the Glazers

Maybe he prefers Spain after all...

Numpty.

If we don't sign him, it won't be because we wouldn't pay £12m.

If we don't buy him or anyone else, there's only one reason. But I don't want to upset the apologists.

£3m net, that's possibly your job lot, Fergie. Now compete with Barca.

Just because a load of numpties on the internet think we HAVE TO buy him, doesn't mean the management of United think the same.

Good luck to him but it's a bad decision if you ask me. He won't get past Xavi and Iniesta and it's going to be difficult to justify starting him ahead of Villa, Pedro and even Zlatan. Plus, when Cesc returns to them next year, Ozil will be further down the pecking order.

I'm disappointed we seemingly didn't make a move for him. He would've been the perfect signing for us and we were interested in him well before the WC, so it wouldn't have been a knee-jerk signing.

'I have been a fan of Barcelona since childhood,' he said recently. 'I can not describe exactly what it is but there is something that I love about the team.

'They've always had the best players. A a few years ago they had Luis Figo and Rivaldo - now they have Lionel Messi.

'Playing for Barcelona has always been my dream and someday I hope to achieve it.'

He's a Barca fan as well, if they're in for him then we have virtually no chance.

Perhaps, I have a feeling however we could have had him had money not been so tight, there was a rumour we tried to buy him for 9m. Financially we cant mix it anymore

I agree. Personally I dont see what he'd bring to the team that we don't have already.

So it has nothing to do with Ozil prefering a move to Barcelona, if we don't sign him is because "WE HAVE NO MONEY feck THE GLAZERS"

Interesting...

Ramsey's a United fan yet he chose Arsenal over us. Players have to do what they think is best for their personal development.

Yeah, assuming we had ANY COCKING INTEREST in signing him in the first place ffs.

I wasn't aware that Arsenal defeated us to sign Smalling.

O please.. It would be exactly that. It doesn't take days to cough up £12m.

So we definitely wanted him, did we? You know that do you?

And - do you think that SAF asked the Glazers for £12m to sign him and they said no? Bollocks. They'd agree in a flash.

He didn't ask that question because he's happy with the squad. And why not? It's not like Ozil is definitively a player we need.

Yeah, assuming we had ANY COCKING INTEREST in signing him in the first place ffs.

Well make your fecking mind up then, is it we don't want to part with £12m or is it that we aren't actually interested in him at all?!! The latter seems harder to believe...

Conjecture your honour.

Yeah it's just getting fecking ridiculous. People like Crerand come out and say it's all the Glazers fault that we're not signing a player when there's absolutely nothing to suggest we were even interested in signing him, never mind all the other possible explanations, like the player preferring a move elsewhere.

We don't even know that anything's happening yet.

They're a completely different club, you muppet.

Oh here we go with the immature name calling. I said the management of Barca's opinon of Ozil differs from that of Uniteds, what are you getting on your high horse about?

Barca will only move for him if they think they can't get Cesc, right?....well, why is Xavi today talking about signing him in January?

The Spanish rag's have enraged this thread.

Believe, as Ozil said...before smiling and pointing towards OT. From Bremen.

It's not only a lot of people at the Caf - it's United supporters across the net in general. Still that doesn't mean much - typically there is this or that player we must get and that tends to be the consensus and if we don't get him then it's because we are skint or Fergie has gone mad.
