Sir Alex fears Anderson's willingness to lead a party lifestyle and attitude problems will only hinder his comeback from knee surgery. Sources close to Old Trafford believe Anderson could be offloaded to make way for the signature of Mesut Ozil, the star of the German world cup team. The attacking midfielder plays a similar role to that initially thought Anderson would provide at Old Trafford; "I am under contract at Werder." Ozil said, before smiling at journalists. "But I am open to listening, I hear rumours and I know United are the best team for any player who wishes to express himself on the football pitch."

United have previously tried to sign Ozil, once as a youngster and an inquiry was made before the World Cup, where Ozil won many plaudits during the tournament, it is believed a fee of over £12,000,000 will be needed to sway Werder, considering Ozil only has one year on his contract left - United are believed to have the fee at hand but the sale of Anderson would certainly help balance the books at Old Trafford, where much financial insecurity is spoken of, it is unlikely with the clubs balances so delicately poised Sir Alex would spend large amounts without recouping some of the figure.
