Your entire argument boils down to giving Ronaldo a disproportionate amount of credit for his teams' successes whilst proclaiming various and specious character defects are literally true of Messi and therefore make him worse. Pointless fanboying. If Messi were Portuguese and Ronaldo Argentinian you'd be on the other side of the argument.
Also this argument that he did it in more leagues is so tiresome. Is Anelka some all time great because he played in 7 fecking leagues or whatever he ended up with? Of course not.
You unsurprisingly chose not to comment on the fact he quit on his country. so again I ask how can someone who quit on there be considered a goat?
Also no I am looking at what is presented to me. For example.
What did Portugal do before Ronaldo began to play for them? How many times did they qualify? How well did they place etc. IF those Numbers increase and get better (this at a time where besides Moutinho and Nani the team were full of potatoes) then it must have been because of him.
Real Madrid won a 3 Peat and 4 CL while Ronaldo was there was the team good? Of course it was but who was the X factor on those teams? The guy who has over 60 goals in the knockout phases and over 15 goals in the competition for multiple season. Ok so 2/2
He did it in United as well right? Who was the main player and best player on that team in both finals appearances? Alright there we go.
Now look at Messi was he always the best player in Barca ? Of course he was because to me he is the 2nd best player of all time BUT is it a coincidence his best ever season were with the core of the greatest national team of all time? Yes
What did that core go on to accomplish without Messi? They won everything, they cleaner house in Europe and in the World Cup
What did Messi do for his country in that time who btw for a majority of his career he had a superior national team then Portugal as of course Argentina is a traditional superpower.. well what did he do? Nada, he is not the same player for Argentina as he is for Barca.
Also the league thing does matter which is why I was so excited for the possibility of him leaving to England.
Spain is a 2 team league and for the past 12 years bar a few season Barca have had the superior team of them all (once again core of the greatest national team of all time) the team play a certain way that he has been used to for years.
The only glimpse of Messi out of Barca that we see is Argentina and they don’t look the same which makes you wonder how he would be with a team with different players, coach, ideas etc.
Also do you think it is an accident Ronaldo has double the KO goals then Messi? The KO rounds are the big time those are where every goal counts and he outshines anyone In that category.
The problem is if anyone goes against the idea of Messi being the best it has to be “fanboyism” when in fact it’s more so at looking at the things places in front of you and looking for yourself.
