Except for the fact that Ronaldo has scored more goals and been more effective again this season.
Stop it.
Except for the fact that Ronaldo has scored more goals and been more effective again this season.
It's actually easy to understand why. These days goals pretty much decide how good you are for plenty of people. So any comparisons seem to come down to g+a.It made sense discussing this only when Messi was unfit. I can't understand how anyone who watched both of them them this season have any doubts who is better this season.
Not getting into this comparison, but being effective is more than simply scoring goals.Except for the fact that Ronaldo has scored more goals and been more effective again this season.

Goals. Goals. Goals.
There's a dude up here called Kris Boyd who scored more goals in Scotland than Henrik Larsson did. Figure out where I'm going with that.

As good a reason as any...

I know, that's why I rate Bendtner over Ronaldo because he is more effective for Denmark than Ronaldo is for Portugal.
It's ridiculous. People can't appreciate a player unless he's scoring goals these days. It's actually easy to understand why. These days goals pretty much decide how good you are for plenty of people. So any comparisons seem to come down to g+a.
Forget messi vs ronaldo. I just find this obsession with statistics alone completely ridiculous.

Ronaldo is stronger, taller and cooler than Messi. Messi wears weirdo red shiny suits as a form of attention seeking like a little brat. Hope ronaldo punches him in the tummy at the next balon d'or.
Who would win in a fight?hello cal? Please don't hide your emotions
Who would win in a fight?
Messi would probably get Suarez to bite himMessi, 'cos Ronaldo won't want to mess up his hair.

You're entitled to your opinion, regardless of how stupid it is.Even without the goals, Messi would still be better than Ronaldo.

The only reason that Messi can be compared to Ronaldo is because he does score lots of goals.
If u also compare the quality of goals and football from Ronaldo and Messi it's not even close who is ahead and who does more for their team.
Ronaldo a very good striker and goal scorer who is lethal in front of goal is an unbelievable striker but he just can't compare to Messi for me as Messi just plays the game like nobody I have ever seen play.
You make it sound what Ronaldo does is easy. One thing that is indisputable is Messi has to work a lot harder for his goals. Ronaldo can play like shit, loiter around the area and eventually his team mates will do the work and he'll knock the ball over the line and he'll walk off happy. With the way Messi plays, deeper and far more involved in the overall game, he doesn't get that benefit.

It's not insulting at all. Ronaldo is one of the best players in the history of the game. Messi is better and has been better for the majority of their careers, but people in this thread somehow talk for Ronaldo like he was a bad version of Bebe.compared to what his rival does it is. Just illustrating a point though, it's a bit insulting to Messi to be compared against Ronaldo when he's doing so much more in the game.

Would be a close fight imo. While Ronaldo is clearly the stronger of the two, Messi could go for the jumping uppercut and punch Ronaldo in the balls.Who would win in a fight?
I usually wouldn't insult anyone by saying Ronaldo is cooler than them but Messi just got a horrendous sleeve tattooed on himself.
If Messi would try and play like Ronaldo he wouldn't come close to being as effective. They have different strengths and they make the most of them.compared to what his rival does it is. I see your horrendous sleeve tattoo and I raise you...
Barbie pink shorts and Nathan Barley wanker hat (worn at angle)
Silver hot pants (!?), baby pink T, all over fake tan and aviator shades
and finally - bootcut jeans, man-bag, and nipples
Let us never speak badly of Messi's tattoos again.

The irony is that it's Ronaldo's goals that make the comparisons and debates even somewhat credible.

In terms of productivity, they're very close. In terms of quality of football (which is something really relative), Messi is and has always been better.
