Almost again how England have not got a wicket yet.
Game changed on that first hour today, England and especially Anderson were all over Australia, Hussey couldn't hit a barn door and somehow survived about 6 LBW calls, 1 stone dead that of course doesn't get given, he played very well but he didnt half have some luck on his side throughout the innings, lucky not to be out first ball, played and missed so many times it was laughable and but for poor umpiring was blatantly out long before he made 100, very very lucky today.
Englands heads went down after that, nothing went their way and i think they lost heart, easy to do when it seems nothings going your way, fight on their hands to save the game now, given the way the lucks gone in this match i expect heavy cloud cover for the rest of the match and the ball swinging for most of it when the ozzies come to bowl.
Bitter or what?
It might be true, but it was one decision, just because you appeal for 50 LBW decisions, and none go your way doesn't mean, you have a reason to feel down.
The lbw in question was obviously an incorrect call, but if England hadn't wasted their other two review decisions on whims, they would have been able to review the decision and get it reversed.
Their biggest problem was Swann, bowling short time and time again, and Finn bowling rubbish.
He picked up wickets with the short ball, but only after Hussey and Haddin put on 300 runs in between...there should have been a re-think of bowling strategies.
Look obviously 260 is not good enough, when the opposition come in and score nearly 500 in their dig.
The batsmen struggled, and just when they were heading towards a potentially decent score, the hat-trick destroyed the innings.
But there was a concerted effort to bowl bouncers and short balls at Hussey. It is one of his main strengths, having played for so many years in Perth. I suppose they were working on the principle of your strength being your weakness...but it didn't work, yet they persevered with it, yeah it eventually worked, but the bloke had near on 200 by then.
Also Swann bowled up so much rubbish..it was unbelievable, at least one short and wide delivery every over, which of course went for a boundary, or runs that released whatever pressure valve there might have been on.
Anderson was truly unlucky, I thought he bowled well for England, and the number of times he beat the bat without any reward was criminal. Broad was decent, but I'm not sure how much his blisters bothered him, so he also escaped any real blame for this.
