MERGED - The 2010/2011 ASHES tour thread...all Ashes related chat here please!

Nothing much happening for the seamers but Swann's getting a bit of turn and causing Watson some problems, still no wicket though.

The wicket will come to Swann the more the day goes on, i'm not fearful of any Aussie batting revival.

Well... you should be. On its day, the Aussie batting line up minus North is the strongest in the world. The fact that they only got 280 in the first innings shouldn't dismiss the fact that its still world class. Bowling on the other hand...

Ponting back in the pavilion....out for 9.

One more wicket this session and the Aussies will be rocking.

So this is what world class spin bowling looks like. Doherty on the other hand.....

Watson gone! Massive wicket.

Caught strauss off finn for 57. He cant even convert his 50's to a 60 :D

What is Clarke doing. Charging every ball.

Every time he comes to the crease the commentators start talking about his amazing ability to play spin. He comes down, without any thought, to every other ball to spinners and eventually gets out.

Aussies will be heavily reliant on Hussey and Clarke getting a big stand here and not losing another wicket before the close of play. Rain is rumoured to be on the way which looks their best chance of holding out for a draw.

If England can get Hussey and Clarke before the close of play they would be massive favourites to win tomorrow, weather permitting.

Botham in particular was quite dismissive of the back slapping routine they do after some good fielding but i reckon this has been quite important to their general concentration and high discipline in the field. Looking very sharp.

Session's over. Finn was bowling brilliantly in that spell and was unlucky not to get another wicket.

Looks likely that weather is going to disrupt the remainder of the day's play so there is a good chance Australia will have Clarke and Hussey at the crease for the final day.

Looks like there might be showers tomorrow and heavy rain by 3pm ish. Enough to save the Aussies?

Test cricket is a joke. One team dominates and weather causes a draw. They should figure out a way of making sure 450 overs are played.

Play suspended.

Groundsmen rushing to put the covers on despite there being no rain.

Pietersen you feckin legend! Ashes defining moment.

Well all depends on the weather now, England will need at least 1 full session tomorrow i reckon and the forecast isn't overly good is it, could easily be a total wash out by the sounds of things, shame really because England have totally outplayed Australia from ball 1 of this test match they deserve to win.

On a side note how friggin lucky is that Hussey?? the number of times he plays a misses without edging is ridiculous, when he dos edge they either don't carry by a millimetre or go wide of slip, he nearly dragged on from a sweep but again missed by a whisker, hes had more luck these last 2 matches than i can remember any batsmen having over an entire series!

It's looked pretty black all afternoon after some sun in the morning, just a question of when it will break.

Personally, I was expecting to be posting this with a full-on shower in front of my window by now, but alas thats not the case.
