Manchester United only enquired once at PSV about Memphis, but made no contact afterwards. By then van Gaal knew everything he needed to complete the transfer if he wanted to. Memphis and his agent had freedom to speak to clubs and he (confirmed) has been to Liverpool and PSG. LvG doesn't want to sign anyone outside the transfer window so he keeps everything quiet but bought Memphis because he was about to sign for PSG. The transfer with Manchester United was done within 48 hours, therefore even Marcel Brands thought he was going to PSG because there were loads of other clubs who enquired but never made any contact afterwards. An agreement with PSG was very close and in the latest stages of completion, he said it would've been no problem to complete the deal with them.
This is disappointing. Rhain Davis is clearly better.

He preferred the premier league so there's a chance he stays for a long time to come, especially if he wins things. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here

Its up to us as a club to stop dickin' around and start winning leagues and UCLs and being the most dominant club in footballing terms in Europe, then players are less likely to want to leave us to go to Real or Barca, obviously thats not an easy task, but if we want to keep our best players then we have to remain successful.

Im desperate for this guy to play for us for many many years. He looks awesome - but Madrid will want him if he does get that good - that's for sure.
